What kind of compound would I use to fill this angle created by the front notch of my corner hearth? Appreciate any suggestions or ideas. Harmon P68 install is a week from today!

I've included a couple of pictures in this post.

Thank you,

Jerold

I think your talking about the wood corner I would fill it with bondo and sand to a perfect corner will not shrink and is sandable then tile over it.

I am referring to the corner joint that is created by the cement board cut and placed on the front of the heart. The wood has been covered with cement board already.

If your talking about the vertical surface of the tile board, usually regular drywall joint compound (and FG joint tape) is used. I don't think that it is necessary for your project.

I take it you are putting tile on the veritcal as well since you have cement board there? I would just cover it with mortor when you set your tiles.

I am not a tile expert but I have found it is easier to cut the tile prior to attaching to the board.

just fill it with the setting mud.
