This is my first season with the xxv. I have burned a ton and a half of pellets. I,am hearing a clang when the auger feeds the pellets. I do clean stove with a vacuum about once every two weeks. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Kev- most likely its a long pellet being cut off by the slide plate........common, and nthing to worry about. You will find some brands of pellets make more clanging, some less.

if it's once in awhile it's ok if it's every time check your pellet length if all are over 1 1/2" thats your problem if the length is ok then it's the stove.

I checked out the pellets. They definetily are not longer than an inch and half. I'm using great American pellets. I burned Aton of pellets without this problem. It almost sounds like the auger is hitting something.

My P43 does this with certain brands of pellets. Even when the pellets appear short, I am betting that if you tried a couple different brands of pellets that you would find it gets better or stops. Keep us posted!

It can happen with HARMAN stoves. It happens when the slide plate has a pellet stuck in the path.

I noticed my Harman makes more snapping noises when I burn NEWPs and Green Surpremes.

I burned about 5 bags of GS and noticed the same thing.

x3 And Barefoots REALLY made a lot of noise in my stove.

Same here.......

You all got it. My Harman accentra did the same thing. Never hurt it. Just snapping pellets. Even short pellets did it in mine. You might want to make sure the auger is not bent and catching. Empty the pellets out of the hopper and run it dry and see if the noise is still there. This should tell you if its just the pellets or a bent auger. Good luck!
