What recourse do we have at this point? I have no choice but to reset the altitude because at times this is the only way to get it out of quite mode.

I think I've only had one stuck in queit mode and it said it was in normal but blower was actually running in queit. I switched to queit mode, exited out and went back and changed to normal mode and it was fine after that. It is not a recurring thing with that stove that I know of.

I have to play around with it maybe twice a week to get it out of quiet mode and sometimes your method works as well. Once in a while changing from high/low or quiet/normal it will shut the fan off for about 5 seconds and the stove goes into retart mode. I spoke to the dealer about it a couple a years ago and he said somthing about a "ghost in the machine".

Better have an exorcism done on that thing then! lol

I usually run mine in quiet mode, but sometimes when I'm playing around it gets stuck in normal mode and switching

back to quiet won't take it out of normal unless I switch elevation settings.

I didn't know wth was going on when it first happened and I even changed the drop tube thermocouple as that controls blower speed.

I chalked it up as a software glitch and just remembered what it takes to switch back.
