Decided to line my flue after reading several posts here. It seems prices vary a bit online for similar products. I think I want to go with flex king type stuff - any of y'all have good reports on a reliable company?

I don't know if it is a no no here but ebay seems to have some liners cheap!

I had second thoughts about chimney liner depot. I just purchased from them and saved a little money. However, there were some issues. Where I saved money, they skimped on the material.

1. The liner was not shipped quality control. It came with a dent. I don’t care how much warranty they have—they need to send them without dents. This happens one time in a hundred? I don’t care. Whoever packed it, sent me a second rate piece. This is a serious problem. Whoever you go with, open the package with the shipper there and inspect the product before you accept it.

2. I called to ask questions about the spray glue that is used to attach insulation. The person on the phone started joking with me and said it was hair gel.

3. If you buy insulation, you will spend a long time putting it on. This is because they skimp on the size and it is impossible to overlap the seam, even though the manual says to. It was a struggle because they cut the insulation strip to the absolute minimum width.

4. The snout strap that attaches to the tee is not long enough to wrap around insulation. You’ll spend a lot of time fishing it through the threaded clamp.

It’s always a gamble finding the lowest price.

I'm not sure about the flex king but I just bought the double wall flex liner and insulation blanket kit from Rockford online this past fall. Everything was great.

Thanks - I was thinking of going with them - anybody else know if the rockford product is the same or better than flexking?

+1 vote for Rockford... quite pleased with product, delivery speed, and price.

I bought from Rockford this Dec as well. Very pleased. The only issue I had was that they sent the wrong chimney cap. One call and the correct one was on the way and they told me to keep the old one and apologized all over themselves. Two days later it was here. They actually answer their phone without an automated attendant and seem to have knowledgeable people as well. All in all, I'm very pleased with them.

I ordered a liner kit from rockford this fall. They were very patient with me. I couldn't get my insulation to overlap either. I was`pleased with what I recieved.

Thanks for all the tips - get this...

Actually found a couple on craigslist with the one I need from rockford that I got for $300, nose cone included. They had ordered a 6" for a 6" square chimney, and it wouldn't fit. very lucky find for me and them. Actually had rockford up in another tab when I found them..with the same kit in a shopping cart...crazy!

Should be curing paint this weekend - also got a 350 husky on cg for 150 bucks to back up my farmboss. gotta bit of old felled and fresh locust and sass diced up, and dry stuff from a neighbor to start off with.
