BROKE DOWN! When I bought that Polaris I wondered how long the plastic clips on the shift linkage would last. Now I know; 5000 miles! I drilled the linkage and put cotter pins in it like it should have had. Gonna buy a Honda......HAHA! -

Yup. That's how it is done quads. I see you still have a little bit of snow. I saw just one little patch of snow a couple days ago. All gone and replaced with mud now. There is still just a little bit of ice along the creek. The water has gone down and on the north facing bank there is ice. Not a lot and won't be because more of the same weather is forecast here. This is amazing. I've seen some warm winters and winters with little snow but never seen anything like we have this year. Still, we have March to face yet after February is done with us.

Quads,
Very nice photos. Guys like you and Backwoods Savage make me soooooo jealous. I will be joining the ranks soon. Got close to 16FC CSS, but probably won't have my stove till next fall.
Tim

Tim, in a year or two you'll probably pass us guys. Keep on cutting!

Time and 2 Advils will tell. It feels so good when it stops hurting!

Quads, You almost showed us your face in that video!

HA! Thanks! Nope, not much snow left. We didn't have much to begin with, but it's been warm enough to melt most of it. Was able to start using the trailer again the other day and put the sled back up on blocks. Supposed to be warm, 40s, again today but then back to normal in the 20s the rest of the week, but still no snow in the forecast.

Quads you got a great eye for the little details in yer pics. I like those random pics. Nice job on dropping that oak, nothing like the smell of fresh cut and split oak on a winter day! I see yer trainin yer saw to 'sit pretty' like yer maul!!

What a rookie with the advil. I start with 4 and see how it goes :)

Quads, I love the way your maul is always in the pics and standing like that. I'm always looking for the fishing line keeping it up like that.

Great pics.

It's Bogy Dave, Snow Leopard and crew . . . they have all the snow and refuse to share with us.

I think I have a crusty 2-3 inch layer around home -- not nearly enough to go snowmobiling around my place this year. I'm giving up and going north on Wednesday to do some riding . . .

On the flip side it's been a good year for cutting wood.

The trails here were open for one week, and even then conditions were marginal. Now closed again, with just patches of snow in between stretches of dirt. Almost got into snowmobiling again this year after a 20 year hiatus. Boy, am I glad I didn't buy one after all!

I've only been around here a couple of years. Did you at some time in the past get any wood that wasn't Black/Red Oak? :smirk: Maybe you save the exotics for your own stack and sell off only the Black/Red...

Good looking fire wood.
Much better linkage now, that won't break again :)
Great pics.
Liked the video, I cranked the volume up. Been a while since I ran my saw, good to hear it.
Amazing difference in this year's pics VS last years :)

Well, when I was a young man all the old-timers called it red oak. Had never heard the name black oak until a decade or two ago. Now everybody calls it black oak. Still the same trees they always were, just a different name. So, I grew up knowing them as red oak.

There is also white oak in the woods. I tend to fill my own woodpile with mostly white and sell mostly black oak. Even though I prefer the white oak for myself, I still mix it up some anyway.

A lot of choke cherry around too, but it rarely ever gets big enough to make firewood. Every thing else is pine.
