My XXV distribution fan seems to have quit. Everything else seems to be working OK. I am getting no flashing lights. The distribution fan light comes on but the fan is not blowing. The high/low rocker switch doesn't do anything either. I have shut the stove down, let it cool and unplugged it for a few minutes and restarted, and again everything seems ok except no forced air coming out the front.

Any help would be appreciated.

A couple questions I have:

Is there a fuse for the distribution blower (only) and if so, where is it located??

And I have read some post where people mention a dirty ESP probe, if that's the case, wouldn't that cause other issues in the stove operation to fail?

Don't believe there is a single fuse for the dist blower. 1 glass fuse for everyting. You'll need to us a volt meter to determine if the fan is getting power. Maybe a loose connection, fan is bad, board is bad. Dist blower keeps the stove from overheating, so it's important to figure out what's going on. Those who had a bad board experienced problems with the distribution blower fluctuating which leads me to believe it's closer to the other 2.

Thanks for the info.

Took the back panels off, the distriution fan is pretty hard to turn. Put the control in test mode and the fan didn't move, switched the High/Low rocker switch back and forth and the fan moved about a 1/4 inch at a time. So I assume the thing is somewhat locked up. I also learned today that the distribution motor is different now and I will have to order the blower AND a wiring kit...........and so it goes........

Bummer. It happens, I guess. Looks like you found the problem. Let us know how it goes.

meh, just remove it, mak a pigtail, and power it independently, see if it works hooked directly to line voltage.......as for "new wires".......havent seen THAT.......

Got my XXV in '08.. What I have been told is, the newer Distribution blowers (# 3-21-29045) have some kind of posts on the blower and the wiring clips onto the posts. Mine, according to the owners manual anyway, is part #3-20-29045A and it has the wiring built into the unit with the wires running out of the body to the control board. At least that's the way I understand it. Don't really see why the wiring could not be cut and ends put on the wires to match the blower, instead of running new wires to the controller, but I haven't seen the wiring kit or instructions yet.

if anyone has replaced one like this, and has any tips, I would sure appreciate the help.

*** FIXED ***

Stove company mailed me the new distribution blower. It came with great directions with pretty clear color pictures (much better than their owners manual) to help out with the install I'm not real good with mechanical stuff, but it wasn't bad at all. I was able to get it all done with the stove in place. Mine sits pretty close to the wall, so the disconnecting and connecting of wires was a little tricky. The wiring kit was 3 wire connector ends and about 10 small plastic zip ties. Turns out my owners manual was wrong and I had one of the blowers with the clips and not the direct wired, so the only thing I used from the wiring kit was the zip ties.

Do you happen to have the instructions for wiring with the clips? We are going from a direct wired blower to one that requires clips and we don't know which wires go where!
