we've had such a wash out of a winter, it's a shame to start now!
now to the store for bread and milk for the
storm of the century"...

It depends on which station you watch. I heard 2-4" all the way up to 6-8" this morning. Still waiting for my carbatruter for my snow blower. Freaking ethanol!

So manual method for this storm! My #&@%ing back!!!!

As far as I'm concerned, Snow (not in blizzard forms) is the only thing that makes the dreary Mid-Atlantic winter bearable.
That's my opinion, and I'm stickin' to it

Jay,

I have 2 snow blowers and 1 generator with bad carburetors due to fuel issues.

I use Sta-Bil Marine and Seafoam in all stored gas.

I just re-built my Stihl Chainsaw (again) 3x in 3 years to keep it running.

I think I am getting to the point of buying a gallon of gas for each time I need to run a machine.
Then open burning off any unused fuel. Makes great environmental impact sense (F'ing EPA)
Goes along with the stupid "new" gas storage spouts on jerry cans. I have given up trying to find a good one.
I just free pour without a spout and spill all over the place. (Again, great EPA head-up-ass theory)

It no longer pays to keep gas stored at home.

Think I may look into converting small engines over to propane or diesel and lose the ethanol problems.

I'm headed to Killington for the weekend, Maybe the conditions will be better than frozen granular.

Around here the top grade gas(93 octane) contains no ethanol.

Just sayin.

I dont like ethanol either but some people swear they dont have any trouble with it at all not sure I understand why this is.

I love New England but I hate to say that our skiing sucks. Much better out west.

Ask any boat owner. They won't need to say anything. The firey look in their eys will say it all! What gets me is I treat all my gas with stabil or seafoam. I normally don't use anything but fresh gas. I dump the old stuff in the gas hogs tank. and keep everything as fressh as possible and fresh treatment. I was surprised to see the corrosion and decay in the carb. A clean and rebuild would only make it fun with full choke. Minute you opened the choke it quite! New carb has been on order for over 6 weeks and still no sign. Must be a run on these as its only for the snow engines! Good thing the shovel doesn't need gas to go! :red:

This is what I use, Star brite Star Tron Gasoline Additive and it works great. I use to use seafoam to clean the carbon out of my Celica. The last two years that I have treated my car with Star Brite, with a yearly Seafoam cleaning, very little carbon blew out. I have also used it to store gasoline for my generators as well with no issues and gasoline in my area is ten percent ethanol. Sar Tron also has it for diesel fuel which can be used in home heating oil, I use this as well.

You might be better off skiing in Old Lyme!! Looks like a Southern Storm. I was at Sundown last night and they are sill holding on to the snow they made earlier in the season. Conditions are pretty good!

On the weather a couple of days ago, they said we had 34" so far this year. Last year at the same time we'd already had 138". Let's hope we don't catch up all at once!! According to your map, we're up for 12+. Sure hope you're wrong - I was just getting my hopes up for spring!

Yamaha and Honda sell generators and/or add-on kits to run on propane:

No snow needed!! Very familiar with that Plan....Enjoy!!

I'm betting I see nothing but rain this weekend. Its been a very mild winter. I've got a bad feeling about next year??????

Forecast here is for 1.5 inches but as of now the lawn/cars have about 1/2 - 3/4 of an inch and there is nothing on the street.

It's 30 outside and 75 inside the house which is all that matters.
