So my combustion fan was making a terrible high pitched kind of droan noise , and followed by some loud enough to turn up the tv noise , hard to explain the exact noise . So I ordered a new fan from Eric at Kinsman stoves , and the damn thing quit making the noise today.

how long did your fan last.?

I have my big e for 4 yrs now and it is starting to make some whinning noise, it seems to be comming from the right side (combustion). I bought a spare from my dealer. Did you just change the motor or both motor and housing?

I'll just change the motor, as the housing has a gasket , and I don't want to mess with the gasket .Now it is making a high pitched whistle , if the motor doesn't come in tonight I'm turning the damn thing off.

I had a combustion blower make noise every time I shut the stove down and re-started it. Took out fan, dripped oil I had from furnace fan and went away. 2 weeks ago, I first woke up to alarm, then horrible smell. House smelled like smoke. Ran down to look, sure enough, stove is out. # 2 light flashing. Took access panel off side, Bearing seized on combustion fan. Bought new one at local dealer for $202.00 plus tax. Tore that sucker apart, #608S bearing, found one, put it in now have a spare. New bearing from Applied-$9.63 plus tax. Just make sure you get right shaft size. either 5/16 or 8 MM.

Installed and running fine, soooooooo much quieter , bet it has been going bad for a while. Yeah I'm keeping the old one , we have a local place here where you can get bearings and stuff real cheap.

Came home from work and the fire is out with a #2 flashing. I cleaned the burn pot and dumped the ashes. Went to start it... nothing a couple of pellets then in about 45 seconds #2 light again. I am going to pop a beer and change the motor.

Done...very quite. Just in time to watch my fav. show blue bloods. too bad you have to buy the housing, when all you need is the motor. Time for another beer!

Glad to hear you are up and running.

Check to make sure the pressure switch hole is not plugged.. I have some pic on the site about it.

Dodge, you can buy just the motor. Ebay has a lot of Breckwell parts. Just do a search on the part number and there are plenty of places that sell just the motor. It is good to have an extra housing on hand as loosening the screws from the housing to remove the motor for cleaning 3 or 4 times a year the holes do get sloppy. Jay always has good info as far as replcement parts are concerned. He has giving me some very good information on parts. Thanks Jay for the info on the exhaust motor, still running strong!
