I have a 2001 York insert with analog control board that will not respond to the rheostat control. I have wired the fan and rheostat to direct current and they work as they should. I have checked and rechecked wiring per the manufacturer diagram and jumped each sensor and vacuum switch and nothing changes. The stove runs great otherwise. I am out of ideas, hoping someone can come up with something I have overlooked. Thank you kindly.

I'm not familiar with the analog control - does it use triacs to control the motors? If so, perhaps one is bad. Does the motor run full speed all the time? Or not at all?

Runs full bore all the time, don't know about triacs or what they are.

They are the little square things (usually four) that are arranged in a square on your control board.

They control what the three motors and the igniter get for power.

The igniter and auger motor usually get full power when they are in use. The other two motors will see varying power.

Triacs generally fail in one of two modes full on and full off.

If you have soldering skills you can generally replace a bad triac if you know which one has failed.

They are potentiometers if that helps. Control board came from a Pepin and worked fine in there. I am thinking the wiring is the culprit, St Croix is not known for their clarity in their manuals.

Mystery solved, snap disc is mislabeled. Hi fan disc diagram shows blue on right, red on left and red on bottom. Should be red right and left and blue on bottom. I love St Croix stoves but boy do they need a lesson in wiring diagrams. Go figure.

Glad you got it! Thanks for the update, too.
