Last month I found out I (Yes I) had to keep the hopper filled or I got an error message telling me the stove will not work. Well last night is the last straw, I got an "Auger jam" error message. It was right after I filled the hopper. What is next? Will I find out that I have to take all them "ash things" out of the stove?

So after taking out all the pellets, I had to remove the side panel (4 screws). I then had to remove one screw (YES one whole screw)that held the auger in the auger tube. I then had to move some wires, what are they in there for? As I pulled out the auger there was all this "saw dust", where did that come from. This is a pellet stove and not a saw dust stove. Well I put the auger back in and put that one whole screw back in place. I replaced the side panel and had to walk all the way to the thermostat to hit the reset button. WTF People!!!!!

It was about 10pm when this happened. I was not thinking about a camera, more like how many beers were in the beer fridge down the hall from me in the laundry room. The kids were asleep so I had no one to fetch for me.

Dang dealer didn't tell you all the ins and outs with this here pellet eater. Left you all alone to fend for yourself! You'll nail him to the wall. ;-)

Post your dealers name so we can all sick him! :cheese:

There was a post recently where someone got a free/almost free Harman from someone who claimed that it worked when she moved into the house then just stopped...turned out it was empty. Definitely the dealer's fault, that one.

I'd sue the pellet manufacturer. Shouldn't be any dust in them!

There you go.

Mine shut down last week due to long pellets getting caught in the drop tube.. This thread has me thinking.

I should sue Quadrafire (for not making the drop tube larger), the pellet manufacturer, and my dealer who sold me both the insert and the pellets.

My wife got cold and thus is withholding her favors. That should mean big money for damages, right?

Yesterday was the last straw for my wife too...
I was at work and received a call
"The stove didn't start, did you clean it this morning?"
"Yes, was there any flames?"
"No, it sounds like it is starting but no flames."
"Let it shut down then see if there any pellets in the firebox and try it again."
Next phone call was me saying I forgot to fill it before I left!

Longing for the old days, when I could afford to burn oil.

My stove dealer didn't come to my house once last week when I was outta town for work. I was under the impression, that he would come over twice a day, once in the AM and once before bed to check the hopper. Now, how the heck does he expect those pellets to get into the hopper when I'm gone for a week. Talk about false advertising, set it and forget it, my azz!!!

Hello Eric

Did you cleanoff the Optical Sensor and Lubricate the Auger Motor? I lubricated the Auger Motor, Replaced the Optical Sensor and then the Flame Height needed to be set to -4 to get one of those MT Vernon AEs working again!!

Also there is a hopper full sensor that may need cleaning too!!!

All the electronics check to see if the stove is working, but what is there to check if the electronics is working???@@$%$%^%#%@#@#@#^%#^%##^#^%@#^%#%#^%^^%#^%!!!!

I took it apart, cleaned the auger tube, cussed at it, and put it back together. Considering this is the third time I emptied the ash pan and the ashes, I think I needed a break.

"Drive it like you stole it".

Well gosh darn, all you gotta do is stop feeding those ash producing pellets and you won't have to worry 'bout them ashy pans.

It's not always blamed on the dealer. I know of a certain insurance company that thinks they can blame the fuel (and get the manufacturer to reimburse the damages) for smoke damage in somebody's house in Vermont.

That bag was not a "ProPellet" bag. It was another brand. I have mills always sending me samples and that what this was. Hmmm, if you send me a sample please make sure it is from a good batch. LOL.

Dust helps them slide down the hopper. :)
