Ok, so it wasn't a nice 40 - 50 °F ride this morning,
but it was STILL a ride. Truck's in the shop.
The GF is out of state. Hadda get to the dermatologist
& then to work, so I fired up the Ultra & RODE! Didn't
even see ONE other rider, maybe because it was 18 °F
when I left the house at 0715. Roads were clear & the
recent rains had obliterated any salt deposits. Fingertips
& toes were a tad chilly after a half hour of riding, but I
had a big ole smile on my kisser the whole time! Should
be closer to 40 °F for the evening commute...Yeehah!

Guy here at work hasn't stopped riding at all this year . . . I personally think he's nuts . . . or at least very cold.

The HD dealer's lot has been full all week. Been in the 50's or even 60's most of the week. When I went out at lunch I probably saw 10-15 bikes out and about...55* and sunny.

I opened this thread figuring I would see pics of a snowmobile trip, not a motorcickle! I have snow on the brain I guess, getting a decent amount right now, 4-5" I'd guess.

Now if we could get the ice off the lake we could go bassin again! ;-)

Glad your all out riding. Just watch out for the sand.

We're planning on "saddling up" next weekend....... kinda the same thing :)

Every time I go to the garage to get another load of wood, I look at my bike and seriously consider taking it out.

I'm starting to feel like I'm ready for spring if we aren't going to get a real winter.

We haven't had any snow to speak of here in KC. Temps have been very warm for this time of year and the bikes are all over.
I love riding in the cold, I paid too much money for the warm clothes not to use them. Not to mention this bike has heated hand grips.
But as luck would have it I have a messed up shoulder so I haven't been on a ride for a couple weeks.

DAKSY are you anywhere near the Lake George area? I will be working the HD demo fleet at Americade in June.
I hear the riding is great.

We're about 70 miles south, jeromehdmc. Our HOG chapter (Brunswick, NY #3430),
will take a group ride to Americade on Tuesday of that week. I'll look you up when I
go to the pin stop... You heard correctly. There are a LOT of "twisties" through the
Adirondacks, most are in really good shape, but there was some major storm damage
last summer, so much that some towns couldn't afford to effect immediate repairs, so
if you're gonna ride, talk to the locals to find those roads that might still be in questionable
shape. If you get a couple of hours to enjoy the riding, head up though Warrensburg & take
Rt 28 to Rt 28N to Rt 30 & then North to the lakes. Take Rt 3 to Rt 86 to Rt 73 to Rt 9N, &
back down to LG...Really, really beautiful country. You can detour off that route & stay on
Rt 86 to climb Whiteface, but last time I rode up there, the climb was a mogul-fest...
zapny lives up there & can tell you the good spots to visit...

Sounds good I'll copy that down. When the date gets closer I'll get in touch with you guys to get some good riding routs.

Used to work with a guy that rode his Honda Shadow in all weather. He'd come in in 6" of snow riding that thing. Yeah, he owned a 4x4 truck too. Used to say he rode in the snow "because I can!"

If it's any consolation my riding season started yesterday . . . I had to trailer the sled up to Dover-Foxcroft though. Supposedly the riding in the County is fantastic, but I was just looking to do a day trip with my buddy. Ended up putting on 136 miles although our initial plan to ride to Millinocket went awry due to poor signage and we ended up in Greenville where we ate at The Black Frog before blasting back down the old railroad bed. It was good to be out . . . and now I have the urge to go out again . . . soon.

My buddy had a really nice 68 sporty, his dad used to ride Indians back in the 40's and 50's. He used to call John's sporty a curbsetter

So far this year ive been able to ride the road glide every month, except this one. But ive got a week off work this week, and i will find a day to ride.

DAK, you inspired me. I got out for a short errand-run on my Concours yesterday!

Never really stop riding. Always trying to stay brushed up for the next enduro/hare scrambles season which starts in March.
Weather? Never a concern nor issue, we ride in "anything" ;-)

Am I a trend-setter, or what?

Now if only you were inspiring enough to get me to yank four carbs off/apart, clean, syncronize and fire it up . . .

Looks like a riding day today :cheese:

Just don't stop in this bar on the way home...

Hey Daksy, Does this count as riding? We'll a boat ride anyway. ;-)

My son and I just took it out for a test ride(more like a blast at 55 MPH) and we just had to buy it!

NICE! 55 on the water must be a HOOT! Yep, I'd consider that
as riding. That ride should get you to the good bassfishin
spots in NO time. Beats the crap outta my 14'er w/a 9.9 horse...
The only thing that my set-up is better than is rowing!
