It seems i have more carbon build up in the burnpot this year? I have to shut down and scrape the pot every couple day's due to the carbon plugging the holes. I have been toying with the idea of ceramic coating the pot to see if that would help? Anyone else having this issue? I am still using the agitator.
Thanks

Do a search...

Someone did it and it made zero difference.

I'm on my phone or I'd find it.

What stove do you have??

You can add it to your Signature line by clicking on Your Control panel at the top of the screen and then Edit Signature on the left side.

Someone with an AE did do this... But if you have an agitator, you dont have a Mt. Vernon.

I don't know alot about the US 6041 besides its very similar to the 6039. But does the agitator run often and can you change the time it runs?

We are finding pellet fiber quality effects how much carbon build up you get. We found that the carbon only builds were there are no holes in theis thread. And drilling a hole where the build up is it will eleminate carbon build up in that are. But thats our stoves. Might not work for you.

Maybe if you snap a picture of the carbon build up and then a picture of a clean burnpot so we can locate area's for improvement. Or you could try damer adjustment to increase the burnpot air?

Seems like a lot of this going on this year.

People have a hard time believing when the building trades get slow our best source's of fiber dry up. So they start excepting what ever they can get. The whatever is usually not quite as good. So? I'll let you decide!

Lee, Where you at? Need a little insider input on this. ;-)

I've been struggling with it too. When I scrap the ashes from the pot, I like to take the pointed end of the scraper and work down to the back of the pot the try and keep the carbon from building up. Not a big worry right now running the stove full time, but I'll want to keep it cleaner when it gets warmer and the ignitor is used again a few times each day

So is it possible that some pellets produced this year are lesser quality than previous years?
