So one of the neighbors calls the fire department when the stove started. Its a direct vent. They gained entry into the house thru an unlocked window, tracked mud all thru my nice light beige living room carpet and left a nice card from the fire marshal asking me to call. Nice to come home to. God bless them, their hearts are in the right place.

Hopefully it is to ask where they can buy your stove.......

Yikes, that sucks. At least someone was looking out, though.

911: Hello, 911 Emergency

Neighbor: Help! My neighbor's dryer is on fire!!!! They don't appear to be home

911: We'll send the fire department.

When I first got my stove four years ago, I had the stove running and I was doing an errand. My letter carrier came and he could see a reflection of flames in the door window. He was calling the fire dept. as I drove in. You have to be glad people watch out for you.

We had our stove for a few years now. Last year my neighbor started pounding on my door to tell me there was a fire in my house due to the smoke outside from our direct vent. Needless to say this year we don't run the stove in room temp only stove temp so it doesn't cycle on and off, therefore no smoke when no one is home. I didn't want to take the chance that someone will call the fire department and with my luck they would show up when no one is home.
