This stove rocks already!!!!!! I have never seen a stove take off this fast 2 fat wood sticks some dry kindling and whoosh into life its been a half hour and its at 480 F already!
The fire is gorgeous to look at and burns extremely clean within 15 minutes there was no smoke at all. so far the air control is amazingly easy to use and it throws some serious heat out. Best of all the wife loves the sexy beast

Good looking stove. Keep us posted on how she does. I'm interested in knowing how well that top load works out? I think some people forgo the top and load through the front.

Great looking stove. What room do you have it in?

Thanks Chief ! It is in the dining room and central to the rest of the house. I have the windows open for ventilation and it is really heating up in here lol

It reminds me of my little Hampton in the kitchen.

Good to hear you have ignition. She looks sweet! I think you are going to love this stove. How is it with the new insulation in place?

BeGreen It is a major difference it got to 90F real quick with the new stove! I am so glad we went with foam thanks for urging me to look at insolation again. I may not have looked again except for hearth members pushing me too lol.

Great pics! Thanks. What made you decide between the F50 Rangeley, and the new F55 Carrabassett? I have found that even though both stoves share the same exact firebox, the F50 is listed on Jotul's website as producing up to 70,000 btu's, while Jotul has listed the F55 as producing up to 83,000 btu's. The also spec both stoves differently on outside dimensions, as well as heating different amounts of squarefootage. F50, 2,000sqft, and F55 2.500sqft.

Did you do any break in fires?

Insulation rocks too! You are going to be saving year round with the new insulation. I'll bet the house is quieter too.

This stove is really throwing the heat now and the paint cure doesn't smell much at all. I would wait and look at the F-55 because it has a steel baffle and comes with a lifetime warranty on the baffle. PE uses the baffle and I have never seen such a good burn control ( air ) on anything to be honest. We decided on this stove because it had everything included with it accessory wise and Jotul has a good reputation. Our dealer was a god send to us as we needed a good dealer after the last disaster Heck they gave us a rather pricey bottle of wine some glasses and mugs to use by the fire lol! I am loving it so far.

It is full of very soft wood right now the fire will only last for a short while. The high temp was very short lived and to be honest I thought it was going to be less lol. This thing lights real quick and heats faster than anything I have ever used! I wish I could have done a 300F burn but it got hot to quick live and learn I guess.

Ahhhhh, but life is good.See what ya think of the straight in loading,it gets it's draft much better this way. Those break in fires are important. Not too late to start.

I will defiantly try that out I got to learn her for sure! It is far more responsive than my Harman was on the air control.

Real responsive, i can kill a roaring fire by shutting it up,2ndaries go for a bit but it will lose it's open fire unless it's opened a hair.

Bub,

I was looking at the technical drawig for the F55, and then I saw on the F50 the dimensions listed. The F50 are just close numbers, and the F55 are more exact.

When and how much? I think it was the Harman that had this when we were looking.

Oh ok,just wanted to make sure i was looking in the right place.Thanks.Want to learn what i can.

That would make a great addition to our stove thats for sure!
