After milking, chores, and laundry this morning. Not too bad for an old geezer with a maul all by himself! Someday I might try one of those cute little dainty Fiskars, if anybody locally ever decides to carry one, but for now I'm still in good enough shape to swing a 6 pound maul. HAHA! You know what they say, once you set in that wheelchair it's all downhill from there. HA!

Anyway, it's been a kind of hectic and stressful week and I haven't had too much time for pictures. So here is one I snapped this morning. Now I have to get back out there, haul this up, and stack it before milking and chores again tonight:

You my friend are living the dream.

You really should hold one of those Fiskars for a minute or two.

You're a machine!
May you never rust out!

Lets all take up a collection so QUADS can Have a Fiskers.

I dunno, if it ain't broke don't fix it.
Let's give him the collection $$ for more batteries or memory card for his camera.....always luvin' the pics! I'm not sure, but I don't think my Fiskars will pose as nicely for a photo opp as the maul does. Kep 'em comin' quads!! Man, I'm sooo looking forward to retirement!!!!

Great picture Quads
I bet the cutting & splitting was "Good therapy" for stress relief. At least for a few hours :)
Some of the "Life is" times are pretty tough. You're one of the "Good guys", it will work out fine :)

I dont think quads needs a Fiskars, they are for us whimpy fellers. Is that cherry wood?

Nice work Quads, something tells me a Fiskars just would not look right in your setup.

Fiskars balance is off, won't stand up right for pictures

quads, in your spare time you could probably remove those tire chains. :)

HAHA! You guys crack me up! Thanks for the smile!

Nice pic quads.

Hope everything works out for you.

Super picture quads. Looks like you were a splitting machine this morning. Oldspark thats red oak even though Quads will say black :p

Doin' work! Good job!

I'm pretty sure quads cuts oak and more oak. I think it's black oak if I remember correctly.

Way cool man! I use a an 8 lb sledge and 4 lb wedges to split. I also apply for jobs, run 20 miles a week, bicycle 100 miles a week and kayak some. In this economy I don't have a job so what else can I do?!? :snake:

im not overly impressed with my fiskers x 27 ,i have a very old 8 pound maul that bust hickery an oak with no problem. the x27 is great for busting the splits into kindling.

HAHA! That's right, it's BLACK oak. HA! Although, it's hard to see in the pic but, the farthest pile away from the camera has some red pine in it. I cut the smaller half of a nice sized dead double oak, and even so it was still bigger than most of the trees I encounter. When it fell, it also took down two normal sized dead oaks, and two live red pine! And I haven't even cut the bigger half yet.....

Nice pics yet again, Quads......nice to see yer out there relieving some of that stress and it's really good for ya! And BTW, you don't no stinking Fiskars.....lol......

Nice Quads. I was thinking of you yesterday as my elbow is finally good enough to start splitting again. I remember your tip on splitting crotches of putting the Y side down. I never thought a few would split, but sure enough they came right apart. Oak can be really nice to split unless you get a twisted one. I have one tree that just won't bust up, I thought I was getting old or something but every other tree I try splits no problem. I split over 1/2 a cord in just about and hour and it feels good to be back at my cardio routine as well. I am running out of room near the house so I will have to start stacking in the woods somewhere, never can have too much and the woods look a lot better.

Nice pics quads. Love the mile long wooden fence. If you doing cardio, where the spandex? Be well.

Brogan007, we have 27 milking cows right now (not all of them are fresh though, some of them are dry) about half as many heifers and calves, one bull, and a steer.

Yup GolfandWoodNut, persistence pays off. I haven't had a single round yet this winter that I couldn't split. Actually, I can't remember the last time I couldn't split one. Usually only two or three per year though, and I let them rot in the woods.

Backwoods, spandex, haha! I'd blow right out of those, first swing and they'd fly off and put somebody's eye out!
