haven't burned yet

I havn't burned yet. My wife wanted to, but it was in the high 60's. It is 84 degrees herre today. Is 76 right now! Still to warm. (It is supposed to get down into the 50's tonight.)

I personally have not yet lit a fire.

Last week it was cool and damp and the wife's father did like a little wood fire, which I was oblidged to play with for the duration of the evening.

Not yet here. 82 and humid

burned 2x in the high 40s low 50s, but its warm again (west of Beantown)...I'm aching to tho (must quell voices in head)

On one hand I want to use as little wood as I can seeing how early in the season it is (and to stockpile uber-seasoned wood for next year), on the other hand I have 5 other fingers...

No burning here yet either. In the day it gets in the upper 60's and at night in the 50's or something like that. I'm used to the celcius scale, 12 at night 22 in the day, but if you're not careful reading it, the stereotype of it being cold north of the 49th parallel would appear to be true!

NA~DA here in the mid west. the lows have been getting down to 48° - 52° but the house stays in the lower 70's at night. When the house dont have all day to collect and hold the heat in the 70's and the highs are in the 50's then it might be FIRE TIME .

Ditto here in south central PA - been fairly warm - still running whole house fan at night. Stove is to be installed the 22nd (we'll see).

Well, you guys need to move a mile and a half up in elevation!, i have had my stove going now for two weeks, had three dustings of snow, and have woken up to sub 30 degree mornings 3 times, and the other four were in the low thirties. I refuse to turn my furnace on untill i absoluty have too. I dont have enough wood done, im thinking for the first time buying some. Beetle kill has made the market here soft, wood is super cheap this year!

Tennessee, mid 80s days, mid 60s night, it will be a long time before any fires are made here.

Oh yeah, pool is holding steady at 80..........

I don't see myself burning seriously until mid November. Unless that early fall shows up as some have predicted.

Of course I will have to lite one to cure the paint on the stovepipe before it gets too cold.

Nice cool fall day yesterday here, so I started a small fire to take the chill off in the evening. A sure sign I need a fire is when the wife and daughter are wearing sweatshirts. Didn't take much to bring the house up to temp. Everyone switched to shorts and t-shirts after a couple hours. Cool and drizzle this morning, probably need another fire today.

Haven't need to burn in these parts yet , either...
Still quite warm during the days & the lowest night temp we've had was in the mid 50's.
But the house retained it's warmth from the day, so it's not chilly enough to need a fire.

It will come soon enough.

Smelled woodsmoke on the air the other night and it made me want to do it, but I know I'd roast...so cooler heads prevailed.

I have had the stove going once so far last weekend, there is chill in the air today and is suppose to drop down into the 40's tonight will probably light the stove again tonight just to throw some quick heat into the house.

At 6 this morning it was 39 degrees..could not resist...been cool all day..brought a couple armfuls in this afternoon...probably going to have a book, glass a port and be camped out in the adirondack chair in front of it tonight...

Yup, that's the only thing I've done so far - new Kennebec installed 8/31/06 - all doors and windows open, 70 degrees, and had the break-in fire with the wood skid boards as the fuel... kinda fitting, no?
