New to pellet stoves and hearth.com.
Just installed a Summers Heat 55-SHP22 stove. Everything appears to be working, got what I would consider a nice flame but not alot of heat output.
I had a coal stove about ten years ago and the heat is nothing compared to that! What is a reasonable output on a setting of 2?
Currently burning Green Supreme pellets from Lowes.
Stove has been running about an hour at thermo stuck in convection tube is reading 134 degrees.
I changed the low burn air setting to one because the vent pipe was so hot I could bearly touch it! I is still HOT but not as much
Sorry I know I was all over the place with this post but my ADD is kicking in. I could post a pic it will help!
Thanks

Please post pics and we will help. Those stoves do put out alot of heat. You just need some adjustments.

What are the 3 buttons at the bottom of the control panel set to?

Don bottom settings are now 5 1 1
currently 142 on the thermo
heat setting of 2 and blower at 5

Heat output on 2 of 9 isnt gonna be great. You wont freeze. But its less than 25% of the total output.

The vent will be warm. Did you write down what the factory settings were? (Can still be obtained, but good to write down).

Dropping the Air that much may have negative results. Pellet stoves rely on sufficient air through the pot.

I dropped the airflow because the vent was so hot it burnt my hand when I touched it, and the vent air was hotter then air coming out of the stove. Was only getting 92on the thermo with the factory settings.
I will have to run it awhile and see how much ash I get
Anybody have pictures of a clean burning stove?
I plan on calling tech support and get the factory rep input too

Tech will fix you up. With heat on level two.....blower on 5 seems pretty high to me. You might be cooling your air faster than you heat it. What happens if you run it more like 2-2 or 3-3?

The factory lower buttons on this stove are supposed to bet set at 6-4-1.

Your setting of 5-1-1 will make a lot of heat, but it is staying in the stove too long...that's why the exhaust pipe is so hot. The blower needs to be running faster to exhaust some of it.

After setting the lower buttons back to 6-4-1, try a heat setting of 2-3, or 3-3 and see what you get.

The multi-fueler defaults to 5-5 during the start up cycle, then goes to your last setting when finished. Check your manual on that one to see if yours does.

lvsb, hang in there and don't give up! These guys will get you going. I know my first year with my stove was soooo frustrating. I just needed to get the right pellets and learn my stove. This is my 3rd yr burning and I Finally have the right pellets for my baby and am very comfortable with the stove. You will get there, and you being a guy, will probably get there quicker than I did. LOL, can ya tell I'm female!

Enjoy the warmth and happy burning.
