Can some of you experts ID this for me please. This is a CL scrounge and the homeowner said the tree guy said two of the trees he took down were ash and one was gum. I know this isn't sweet gum but don't know for sure it's ash either. It splits very easy with very little stringing. I'm just trying to know what I'm burning so I can file it away for future use. Tried to get some good pics of the bark and the grain.

Its embarrassing to admit but at 60 years old, I've never had a piece of ash. :red:

Dennis, I think the consensus is that you're the resident ash expert here. Wadda ya think?

Thanks

Thank you for your confidence. As you already know, you do indeed have some ash. I'm betting you love the way it splits! I'm a bit ahead of you in the age bracket but it has been a long time ago when I got my first piece of ash. So long ago, I barely remember it.

It seems that everyone remembers their first piece of......
I can't do it! It's just wrong and way too easy....can't do it!!!

OK, it's Ash, and we've about worn out the innuendos. We're done here, boys.
