I would assume there are big inventories that are reduced to clear the shelves.

Any thoughts on spring sales?

I am guessing that the dealers are waiting for the manufacturers to drop prices due to low sales all over.
I do not think any dealer will drop prices because they probably only order by the truckload.

I am down to about 5 bags right now, so I need to get some before the weekend is over.
I will probably get a ton of Green Supreme.

And the wife is cold when it was 55 today!

My guess is that IF the weather stays on the warmish side like it has been here all "winter", then the big box stores will start with some sales.....Lowes here already has 35 snowblowers outside listed with "Clearance" signs, and garden supplies are starting to be put out.

a few places around me told me that barefoot and lignetics have limited supply left.

Been keeping an eye open around here....TSC prices have all gone up in the last couple of weeks....while the couple of Menards stores that were higher than the rest have come down to the others.

I was shopping with my son yesterday for a birthday party he has been invited to on Saturday.

We walked thru the store to the toy aisle.

On the way we passed the "ladies" section.

They had Bikinis and Swimsuits on the racks already.

I made comment that it was just wrong. Still in February in New England.

Now I'm in the mood to see full bikinis.

Sales should be just around the corner.

I was hoping for the same thing, but all of a sudden lowes and hd have run out of pellets. A few weeks ago theyre were 30 or 40 tons between them!

In my neck of the woods some HDs are out, some are very low, and the staff claims they are done for the year.
Lowes is out of GT, have some NA, but are saying they are not sure if they are getting any more as well.
TSC one is out, but says more next week, and the other has a good supply on hand.

All are bringing in the spring stuff, and sales on the winter stuff (good time to buy a stove for DIY guys and gals).

I've been watching the pellet dealers around me. Haven't seen much shift in prices from them other then the one blowout sale at Pellets Direct. I'm hoping with the mild winter, prices will go down so I can start on my stash for next year. With gas and oil prices going through the roof, I'm going to try to cram as many tons as I can in the basement this year. Let's hope prices start dropping soon.

I'm all new to this pellet stove stuff so I dont know whats cheap and whats expensive. While at TSC the other day I got Instant heat pellets 100% hardwood for under $5.00 a bag. I went to Ace after and ended up paying just under $6.00 for New England premium pellets. I just called a local lumber yard that only carries New England and they want just under $7.00 for a 40lb bag. They make those pellets just 1/2 hour from my house.

Same with Spruce Pointe. Currently at 285/ton and no spring sales expected as the manufacturer sells everything that they produce; no supplies on hand right now.
Probably looking for a new non shoulder pellet for next year. I may close this year out with approx 2 ton left on Spruce Point, so I might be OK for next year already; but more is better :)

My local lowes said that there will be no clearance on the stoves wood or pellet cause there now stocked year round??? But my local depot said what ever is left should go on clearance soon.

Our cost on Currans has went up last month. We held our retail. If the press is ordered to discuss rising energy prices you can bet there wont be many deals on pellets this spring/summer.

Been thinking about stocking up on some shoulder-type pellets instead of burning the good stuff considering the relatively warm weather we've been having. Haven't done too much looking but I did notice my local TSC went up from a ton price of $214 to about $227. I figured they would go down if anything?? The pellets are North American Wood Pellets so not sure I'll bite. I think I'll go on a pellet run this weekend before the game feed at my local pub on Saturday.

I too noticed a slight price increase at our local TSC. I bought a few bags of those North American Wood Pellets, they burned great in my stove, seemed to burn a bit hotter than the Green Supremes.

Can't see prices going down, at least not by much, it, like most everything else is tied to what is going on with oil. It is a no brained that there will be more interest in pellets as an alternate heat source. The additional pressure on pellets will keep prices as they are, or even increase. I would rally like to see some adult education program sponsor some classes on pellet burning as an alternate to oil, propane, or electricity.

I got crap pellets this year, but they were $206 delivered. I can't see paying much more than that. It should all be that cheap.

Nailer,
The wife and I went to the Gardner Ale house on 1/27 for our aniversary. There was a Beach Party going on. Girls in bikinis were all over the bar. I don't thinkl I'll miss the party next year, LOL...

Here in Pa a local company Great American Pellets have been marked down to 3.90 a bag or $190 a ton.

How are those Great Americans Fisky? I have been offered to sell them. Price is right, I'm just really nervous about moving outside the Curran Softwood comfort zone.

I bought only three bags to give them a trial run and they did well in my stove. They are a darker hardwood and they smell ok and burn warm with minimal ash. Again not the best but I would buy again esp at $190 a ton!

Gardner Ale house is me and my wife's favorite place to eat as well. Good food, good beer all for a good price. The wait staff is excellent as well! To bad we missed the beach party.

We usually have a party of seven when we go there, as we did last night for my son's birthday dinner, but were able to get away alone that night and leave the boys with a babysitter. We didn't know about the beach party and were surprised to see some people in shorts and tank tops when we got there. After dinner we watched the Bob Marley cover band set up and decided to stay for the party. People said, last year, there were 6 foot tall snow bankings outside and the beach wear was going rampid in the joint! It must have been a trip, as it was for us this year. Even though there was no snow outside.

I'm trying to think of something to say about pellet prices but couldn't come up with anything else :red:
I do need some though, only 6 bags left in the basement. The Inferno's we get are family discounted from a local supplier who delivers them to us for free @ $206/ton. I sure would like to burn something better, but with that price they are hard to beat. If someone posts any 200 or below prices on here I would certainly consider taking the back seats out of the minivan, loading up 1/2 ton @ a time in the back and taking a couple of trips.
