I split all this the last 3 day for about 6-7 hours a day. I cut it a few weeks ago. A couple of more days of spliting and I should be done for a few years. Now i have to truck all this wood to my house, 25 miles each way. If the ground ever freezes or when it drys out, thats when I will bring it home.

That looks like a mountain of splits. Nice pile of BTU's to ward off the winter cold.

This is the Elm that is left.

Some big rounds there. Nice pile of splits.
Is the fresh chip pile from a noodle job ?
I see green grass, nice to see this time of the year (for me :) )

That's a lot of wood for sure! Any estimate of # cord on the pile? How many cord do you burn per year? Cheers!

I don't know how many cords yet, once I get it home and stack it. Most of the logs were bucked at 20-22" long and split big. I have a Lopi Liberty and I like to burn big long logs.

The fresh chips just out of site in the picture ( good friend in tree service) brings me the wood and chips as needed. Some of the stringy stuff is from noddling the big rounds in half.

Yes, green grass !!!!!! We have not had major cold or snow yet. Maybe an 1/2" OF snow so far this year. Im miss the OT from no snow but i don't miss the getting up every hour or so to look out the window to see how much and when to call everyone out for snow removal. I work at the local school dist. as the grounds maint. supervisor and i make the call outs for snow.

Only thing better than a big ol' pile of split wood is a big ol's stack of split wood . . . well maybe a big ol' stack of seasoned split wood would be the best thing. ;)

Just cut a load of dead oak for next years burning season. We cut most of the wood in 15in lengths so we could load n/s in our lopi liberty

fespo, that should make for an excellent mix of wood. I also note that you split your wood the right way; vertically.

Nice pile, and variety of woods.
That Liberty is a heat monster. They burn one in a local stove shop. There are a couple of puddles on the floor in front of the stove which I assume is what's left of people that got too close.

"I also note that you split your wood the right way; vertically." thats the only way I split wood. I almost finished today, just one load of Elm left.

I think spliting is easyer the stacking. I have alot of stacking to do. I trade wood for help loading and stacking, deal?

Well I am DONE. It's all at home and stacked. My neighbors lets me stack on his side so he can have a wood fence. The house you see in the pictures is NOT my mine. My house is to the left and down the hill, it's my garden though.

Very impressive amount of work there my friend. How many trips did it take you and how much could you haul at a time?

Have you measured it yet? Pile like that demands to be measured. ;-P

6 loads with my buudys dump truck, (Ford 450, 8 ft box, side from the top of cab shield to even with tail gate) and $100 of fuel and 3 loads with my dads pick-up and trailer. I know for sure when I was selling wood,( many years ago) I could put a cord in the trailer, pick-up combo. As for the dump, I would say it was real close to a cord at a time. I loaded it all with our tractor bucket (an old ford 350 ) and if I pack 2 buckets full it just about a 1/3 or one face cord. But we did not pack the buckets just filled and dumped. Frank

I know, learn how to resize, sorry everyone

Baaah, who cares? Just as long as they all fit in your stove, the end result is heat. Great pile of wood, and a great job getting it done!
