So I bought 10 bags of okanagan and reports of pissy smell are right on!! The wife hates it!
They burn nice and give off very little ash but I filled the hopper and my wife says they smell like cheese!!! Lol

What do you guys think?? So do all softwood pellets smell funny??

Glad I am a Giants fan. Seriously never burned them but most of the reviews on this forum have been spectacular.

Let see, it took 80 years for one of your teams to win a title.

dont you got a moose to chase or something

I'm actually burning my first bag now. I've been holding out for below 0 temperatures, but I don't think we'll be getting that kind of temperatures this season. I actually dont mind the smell. They smell similar to Spruce pointes.

How much was it for each bag of Oakies?

Nice! I paid $6.00 :/

I've heard people say they've got some bad smelling Okanagan's
but happy to report all of the Okies I've ever purchased
only smelled like fresh pine or whatever fresh wood smell.
Very pleasant. Only pellets I ever tried that had a
terribly bad odor were Appling County and luckily I only
got a few bags of those. Would be very unhappy if I was
stuck with a ton or two of stink pellets in my garage.

I dont care if they smell like donkey crap, I want to try some!...........alas no okies this far north.

I got two bags to try. Haven't burned them. Just going near the bags they smell like cat pee and that's with the bags closed/sealed. I'm sure they are a great burning pellet but that smell is pretty strong. On the other hand the Spruce Pointes I've burning smells really good, clean wood smell. If the burns are similiar, I'll stick to the SP for the smell alone. Plus the wife hates the smell of the Okies.

Really? They can be had in Augusta. I notice in you sig that your burning Spruce Pointe. They're similar to Okies.

I just tried a few bags recently and must say they burn very similar to Barefoots as far as heat, they produce a lighter fluffier ash than Barefoot, I did not get any carbon build up in the burnpot, there was no hard "cigar ash" in the corners of the burnpot, the fine content was about the same, and there were far fewer if any "long" pellets that end up crunching in the auger.

They do have a little smell to them but unlike most NY sports fans I"m able to easily live with it.
