I heated my house for $395 this season!

Ok, i;m jumping the gun a little, but I have 17 bags left of my second ton of the season, needless to say i'm ecstatic. I would have spent a minimum of $1000 with NG.

How much are you paying for NG?

NG is less expensive in most if not all places than pellets.

You're right, and that was one of the main reasons I held off on a wood or pellet stove.... until 2010 when national grid jacked their price per therm during the prime months Nov-Apr. from roughly .78 a therm to almost $2.00!!!

Wow! What is the average temperature in your house? The wife complains if it gets below 72....

Good deal on the savings.

We have full electric in our place and I can't imagine what it would cost to heat this place.

we have threee pellet stoves in a 2400 Ft Ranch style house.
we use two stoves running on nut shells and it will cost about $150 for the season.

Sounds like the pellet burner is doing a great job for Y'all.

@MacP I keep it around 72-75 over 1200 Sq. Ft.

Ya JoeS you're doing a lot better than me on price per therm.

I'll be close to the same. Since last Tuesday my usage has been 2 bags of Oakes, 2 bags of McFeeters, and an eighth of a bag of barefoots! All with the house at 74!

Commodity price is .62 cents. NG is at all time lows in pricing.

No NG here but propane is 3.19 a gallon, I have spent almost 400.00 this year in propane, and it hasn't been that cold, what I saved in electric was eaten by the propane, but i had a more warm feeling than the electric.

Pellet stove coming on 3-14.

Been down that road before that is why I switched to NG. Unfortunately when we moved into this house no one told us that NG was in the area so we went

through a winter paying those exhorbinant propane prices. This is why we purchased our stove. It was a year later when we discovered NG was right out front.

If you can get pellets at around $220/ton, you'll save a bundle burning pellets.

Pellets at $220/ton = approx. $16.00 /million BTU.
Propane at $3.19/gal= approx. $44.00/million BTU.

Without looking at my bill, commodity pricing wasn't a concern, they jacked the price of delivery and service

Pellet are 195.00 at the dealer I am getting my stove from, they are bringing 2 Ton with them when they do the install. They say 175.00 come april and then they start to go up.

Yes I am having it installed, they are about 30 miles away, bringing it, the pellet and install for 350.00, I wouldn't attempt to aggravate myself for that.

If that includes the liner it is a steal! It's a good price without the materials too!

What did you get for a stove and what are they selling you for pellets?

Sorry didn't mean to HJ this thread.

Getting a Harman P43, whole deal delivered, installed and 2 tons with a custom made 10" risor is 3900.00 I can live with that.

NGRID always changes their rate in the winter months. You need to double check your rate and make sure you are not being charged a different rate for some reason. I am a NGRID customer here on the North Shore with you and I am paying $1.24/ therm. I actually think it is less than that but I need to look at my bill.

In 2010, the rate went from .75/therm to $1.39/therm assuming you heat your home with NG.

Since my install of my stove on Jan 18th I have purchased 25 bags of indecks, 16 Somersets, 10 pro pellets, 2 kirtlands, 2 from a place in Holland Michigan and 4 from a new place in Grand Rapids. I still have 14 bags in stock.
and used less then 5 percent of LP for all my cooking and water heat.

That's great! Congrats!

Our propane is $4.25/gal. REALLY looking forward to our pellet stove for next heating season! LOL.

Still under 100 bags here. So I haven't reached the $370.00 mark just yet. But it aint over till the fat lady sings. And it looks like she isn't ready to sing just yet!

I picked up 20 bags of MWP at TSC to tide us over till spring. Only had the topshelf stuff left and plan on saving that for next season. Probably get a ton or 2 of something cheap come spring.
