central Me.
I have a US Stove 6041 multi-fuel stove and am wondering if anyone could tell me if the outside air pipe has a cap over it inside the burnpot that needs to be taken off. My stove does not seem to be drawing any air and I took the side cover off the stove and the pipe that I hooked to has a cover over it. It is right under the ignighter. If anyone has an answer, please let me know.

Check the FAQ's on US Stove site. I think the air intake is plugged at the burnpot. You can either drill a series of holes through it...or remove it all together. I think Id try drilling first. I also think you have to connect the air intake on the rear of the stove...with the burnpot..so you need an extra length of air pipe. Hope this helps.

Edit: From their website.... 16. I connected the fresh air kit to the back of my unit and it didn't seem to help at all.

For this work correctly, you will need to remove the side panel from the stove and then connect the air inlet to the back of the firebox with one of the two pieces of flex pipe. You will also need to remove the plug from behind the firepot. If you need further assistance with this please contact customer service at 1-800-750-2723 ext. 5050.

Sounds like the plug needs to come out, for sure.

My question is, if you don't use the OAK, where does the stove get the burn air????

thank you mikkeeh....hump and i found this yesterday, and i have been searching and scratching my head ever since. gosh i love this forum!

I tried my US Stove 6041 with the cold air plug completely out and it semed to burn good but used more pellets. So I drilled holes in the plug and put it back in and it seems to work a lot better. Thanks.
