I own a modern 46cc poulan pro it is a good saw despite the reputation they seem to have. The older saws such as the farm hand where much higher quality my grandfather had one and it lasted forever and had the power needed to do the job. One thing I have found is almost every saw I looked at on craigslsit had a noticeable problem up close and was not worth it. Ask them if you can try it out first and see how it cuts I am sure you know what to look for aside from that.

Good luck Kat

If it starts easy, runs good with no loss of power offer them 75 bucks.

+1, $100 is a bit steep.

Seen some 024's on CL around here for under $100 that need a carb clean to get going again. Also $100 could buy you an 025/MS250 if you keep your eyes peeled.

If you find a deal on a saw KatWill and need help getting it going, PM me.

If you're going to spend $100 on a backup saw that might be as old as I think that one is, you ought to just pick up a Wild thing or something new in the box. Jusy my 2 cents, I think you can do better.

Id at least go look but not even looking i think $75 would be tops for a used poulan. We had poulan pros at an old job. They were more modern and were still junk compared to a stihl or Husky.

Take some big oak rounds with you to try it in. Get it warm and see how it performs.
