Artistry in Wood.

Some of these guys have serious talent. I liked the Eagles carving especially. Check out the short plank of cedar that I grabbed and carved up. I have to get some stain for the letter and finish it.

Anyone see "saw dogs" ? Awesome show about chain saw carvers in BC Canada!
 
The caricatures are pretty neat. The cottonwood bark houses are becoming very popular. I would like to see one chainsaw carved.

Here is one of my latest...cherry burl snail with inclusions. Apple body.

I think your sign turned out nice, Stax.......my one hunting buddy up the mountain does chainsaw carving/rustic furniture, you oughtta see some of that stuff. His business is Rannels Rustics, he does some awesome stuff. Beds, dressers, tables, carvings etc.....

That snail is SO COOL. The bird carvings etc I saw of yours were great, but that snail has serious character.

I'm no wood sculptor, but have been doing some clay sculpture lately. I had pics ready to post here, but don't want to be a thread stealer with non-wood stuff.
