the new board came with a new sensor actually. I didn't get a chance to check for the code "9" which would indicate a bad sensor.

actually, in doing the diagnostic check i got an "8" in the heat range window which is normal. I would've got a "9" at that point had the sensor been bad. So...i guess this sensor is fine as well as the first. The problem has to be somewhere else

Have you connected the blower to 110V power directly? Does it run?

How long did you let the stove run this time before determining that the blower wasn't going to come on?

Mike called me this morning....what a great guy. I'm going to fire it up and let it go for an hour when I get home. Mike also suggested a couple other things to help facilitate the blower coming on earlier. I'll keep you posted....

Thanks Mike!!

I honestly think you've got to give the unit a little more time to allow the blower to kick on. Remember, these stoves are tested during UL certification with the convection blower jammed and the stove on maximum fire. You burning the unit for an extra five minutes without the blower running isn't going to harm the unit.

I remember your post....i needed to hear with my own ears from Englander that I wouldn't run any risk of damage though.
you made a good point though, and hopefully that's all it takes to get the blower going.

the 40 degree basement may be causing the increased heat-up times as well.

It certainly has some effect. During my burn in, which was outside...low to mid 30's and windy (tried blocking wind with a truck for what it was worth), my room blower wouldn't kick in either. I turned it up to 8-8 and it did.

We burned in my buddy's PAH last weekend, had it in a shed just inside the overhead door....temps were falling that afternoon and it was in the low 40's and windy. Same thing happened...lowered the door to get some wind off the back (exhaust side) and turned up to 8-8 and it kicked in shortly thereafter.

Hope it works...keep us posted. Mike at Englander won't let you down.

Perhaps an introduction would have helped. I was a part of the development team on the 10-CPM, 25-EP, 25-EPI, 25-PAH at Englander. Also developed the TL2.0, TL2.6 at Harman. (And many more to come)

Learned something new today.... Very interesting. . .

yes...that's very cool!

Here's an update:

After burning for an hour, the blower kicked on for a couple minutes and then died again.

I had it on 9-9 and 7-4-1.

I'm not getting anywhere near enough fire....that's the problem

It burns at 9-9 like my 25-pdvc does at 3-3.

What can i do to get more pellets dropping? I started out at 3-4-1 like mike told me to get reduced combustion and a hotter flame. The fire died out intermittently though. It's very odd.

The blower starting and then dying would seem to indicate the temp is on the fringe of 125 at the thermal sensor. I need to get a bigger flame somehow.

checked it again just now...no blower....the fire gets big and then dies down to nothing basically....much like my pdvc at 2-2 probably.
I would expect an inferno at 9-9.

When the blower kicked on, it was semi-warm air.

All things considered, it's not getting up to temp because the fire isn't hot enough....my opinion on what i'm seeing

I'm having a stiff jack n' coke though, and it's making the fire feel a bit warmer lol

...and by the way....there's a lifetime of free drinks at the bar in the basement for anyone that figures this out....complimentary service to the easy chair in front of the stove included!!

checked it again...still no blower

so i took a couple handfuls of pellets and threw them in there....flame got big....blower came on.

It's a fire issue...not a blower issue

I think i'm starting to have mental issues lol

I just ran my CPM for the first time with settings on 3-5-1 and holy Moses does that crank out some heat!!!

With the snap disc on the exhaust housing, wouldn't you want more combustion blower to heat that exhaust up more?

Are the pellets that ARE in the pot getting burned up completely?

Feed that sucker some pellets manually through the door and keep that flame up and see what happens? Do it quick and close the door again.

Are your pellets long and causing a feed problem?

I'm grasping at straws here!!

no long pellets...burning american wood fibers and they've been decent for me minus the fines....that's a story for another day.

anyway, i sift the bottom of the bag pellets through a collander now.

my pellets are burning good, just not a strong fire. I mean, i've got this thing at 9-9 with the lower 3 at 7-8-1 and i can't get hot enough to keep the blower on?!

is there a plate in the bottom of the hopper that needs adjustment? that's all i can come up with. I don't remember seeing one.

Every time i throw a handful of pellets in, the blower will kick on a few minutes later.

Since it seems to be a lack of pellets getting fed to the fire pot, have you taken the auger motor & auger out to make sure nothing is jammed, etc?

When you had the stove in diagnostic mode, did you leave the auger running for a few minutes (with pellets in the hopper) and watch the output?

You might want to check the auger set screw....maybe the auger is slipping at the motor connection? You could also time the auger....it should turn at approx. 1 rpm.

I hear the auger working and see the pellets drop. It functions at regular intervals, maybe every 10 seconds, then the fire gets bigger. Then the auger won't drop pellets for quite a while, maybe a couple minutes. The fire dies down, and then it starts dropping pellets again.

each auger cycle only drops 5 or so pellets on average. It cycles just enough times to get a decent flame going, and then it stops cycling until the fire dies down.

There are actually 2 set screws....look at the round collar the auger motor is attached to....the screws should be in that, on opposite sides. if you remove them (or loosen them), the auger motor & auger should slide out....make sure the hopper is almost completely empty.

What I'd be checking is that the auger is tight on the auger motor output shaft (the coupler).

Also, after removing the auger, look up inside the auger flight w/ a flashlight to make sure nothing is stuck up in there....anything from the manufacturing process, or something out of a pellet bag, etc., and that the hopper to auger flight opening is not blocked either.

Hmmmmmm...I can hear the auger on my 10-cpm run every 3-7 seconds depending on what level I have the stove set at. Sounds like it's not delivering pellets often enough. No idea why that could be though.

does it run constantly every 3-7 seconds? Mine definitely stops for extended periods. It goes through startup fine and drops pellets often and i get ingnition in only a couple few minutes.
