This is too much after an extended burn with 2 puglies (view thread below)I decided to load this bad boy up each piece was weighed, averaging from 8 to 12 pounds each 11 splits total count em. Stovetop was about 275 as shown,100 pounds give or take a few ounces either way, scale is old but still accurate within a few ounces. ignition after almost 20 hours from previous load was spontaneous as shown.oak is 12% cut and split in 2004. That's what I'm talking about this is the WOW factor.Temps down to 19*tonight.sorry for the askew pic, split shown 18#you get the picture.

That should keep you warm, maybe hot. Looks like a little cold then a warm up later this week.

Well done! I've been waiting for you to load it up. You could have fit a small spit to the sides of the cat enclosure.

Now I know I gotta buy me a BK. Make a great wood box next to the 30.

That's funny! That BK must hold 1/2 truck load. Don't know how he could stuff anymore wood in there unless he got some liquid wood and poured it in.

Sorry; but I could help but think of "Napoleon Syndrome" after reading the OP's post!!!! Hahahahaha!!!

I'm jealous though.........he's burning, and I'm still planning/building/demoing for next year!!!!

If my liberty wasn't only 2 years old and I had an 8in flue I would be switching over to the dark side!!!

Princess will work with that 6" flue just fine. ;-)

Just give me a call. I will haul that Liberty to the scrap yard for ya. I won't bring it home with me. I promise. :cheese:

On a real cold night that Lopi will make a BK cry for its mommy.

I know it would but I think this way "Go big or don't do it at all"

Now that's funny!

All joking aside I think my Endeavor threw more force you out of the room type heat. I can remember laying on the floor in the family room in front of the fan that blows cold air down the hall just to get out of the heat after loading it full.(air all the way down and it just pumping out heat) I "thought" that was the way it was supposed to be. The BK is not much different than my furnace, it keeps this place a steady temp for hours and hours at a time. You have to work to burn a load of good wood in less than 12 hours, if I had a King I'm pretty sure 24 hour burns no matter the outside temp(for my area) would be easy.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who lays on the floor to try to escape the heat. Spend many an evening there with the window open watching TV

NICE!! You damn BK owners keep rubbing it in, and I really like the specs on the BK King, but I can't get past the fact that I think they are, well to put it in one word, FUGLY........when they make a pretty stove, I may hop over to the 'dark side'. I totally do not like the look of the BK's, but I like everything else. That said, get out your speedo you are gonna be hot with that fire tonight!!

That's the beauty of the BK, he should be as comfy or as hot as he wants it to be. The peaks and valleys with these stoves are small.

I totally do not understand all of these searing heat stories from non-cat owners. And I am the guy that lives in the tropics. Yeah I did that stuff. Twice.

Oh well. Keep on loving those fully packed stoves and wonderful "secondaries" folks. And having to sleep out in the garage. I'll be upstairs. Under a sheet.

Nice! Are you looking to set the hearth.com burn time record with that load? I expect hourly burn reports til it's down to it's last red coal. %-P Keep us posted.

That load should burn for a week in that stove.

BLASPHEMY!!!

(ok im not that BK guy but im filiin in for him till he shows up)

Kinda.

If I loaded my stove right full with it 20* outside I would need to open windows or take clothes off and I'm sure the neighbors would be screaming then

I can keep the house at 75* with the air control all the way down, outside temps -20*

i'm new here. How are you going to get all that wood going? Top down method?

These BK stories are getting a little unbelievable. Next thing you know one of you guys is gonna post a pic of Sasquatch or say D.B. Cooper is your neighbor. :)

He loaded it on a bed of coals from the previous load. If the wood is dry enough, it will ignite within a a few seconds to a few minutes, depending on how heavy of a coal bed he has. Look at the picture he posted with the door closed, you will see some flames in there.

Yep, burning wide open you might be able to burn that 100 pound load in 12 hours, low burn that is going 40+. FUGLY is a matter of opinion but not much to argue when it comes to performance.

D.B. cooper is a mod here, didnt you know?

Fifteen hours into the burn, stovetop 500*,cat at 600* house never went past 74* outside a brisk 24*.It's all about the control that these stoves have, amazing. The heat is even and won't run you out unless you crank it to 3.5 and turn the blower on ,no need to.My setting was just about 3:00 on normal, kicked it up this morning to the south end of normal to get more air to burn the load down,no need to reload until this evening sometime.
