My first ton my friend said that he would haul it for me. But his truck sank so low I felt really bad. So what size trucks do you people use to haul these ton of pellets.

Use a trailer and you can use a half ton truck easy. You can put a ton of pellets in a half ton but you are overloading somebodys truck. A three-quarter ton is better.

I bought a trailer on account of having an SUV but my co worker installed an "add-a-leaf" kit in his F150, it basically gives you the extra leaf an F250 would have, he doesn't squat much at all with a ton.

Useta do that, guys I buy from now haul 'em over and pile 'em up in the cellar for me a lot cheaper than I can upsize my truck and beat my body to death. They can pile 5 ton in my cellar in less than an hour from the time they roll in to the yard. SHAMELESS PLUG FOR WINTERPORT WOOD PELLET COMPANY LLC

You didn't see the kids slippery slide. My wife slides them down to me. I grab them then restack! Easiest way we found to handle them.oldmountvernon said:

We hauled a ton in our 3/4 ton F250 Diesel no problem. (it has a 1 ton front end)
We also hauled 2 tons, the stove itself , hearth, cleaning tools and all venting. It was squatting, but no problems.
I would think I could haul 2 tons in the horse trailer no problems since a horse weighs 1/2 a ton.

My friends truck was a Chevy Avalanch but I don't think I can ask him again. Hell stopped lowes today and put 10 bays of inferno's in the back seat of my Honda. Will stop there again tomorrow. It's on the way home.

I haul a ton on my "97 half ton Chevy. It doesn't bother her a bit. A little high center of gravity but if you stacked them in you'd never know their back there. Check your state laws on what licence plates you need. At least C (if you're lucky) in WI.

I can understand that, however as the owner of an Avalanch & knowing the weight rating the truck will have no issue. I recommend pulling the tailgate, very easy, so the fork lift driver can get the pallet all the way in over the rear axel.

I haul a ton inside the 3/4 ton Suburban with a ton on the trailer behind it. Smoothest ride I ever have in that bad boy. When I get to that 900 foot hill that I call a driveway all the gas that 454 burns is finally worth it. It kinda just chuckles as it walks up the hill.

My 98 chevy 4wd hauls 1 ton pretty good, handles like a shopping cart but always makes it home....
We put 1/2 ton in my Chevy Tahoe and 1/2 ton in either my Yukon or my wife's 4Runner.
I've been wanting to buy a little landscape trailer for a long time to haul wood pellets, mulch, lawn tractor, etc - but I just don't have a good place to store it when I'm not using it, which would be 99.5% of the time, lol.

I have a 2002 Tacoma TRD and typically haul 3/4 ton pellets per trip so when I buy 3 tons I get it home in 4 trips. I would have dared a full ton but the pallet doesn't clear the width of my bed between the wheel wells (probably for the best anyway).
Also keep in mind load ratings of tires especially if not oem.

Dump a roo. I googled it and only found a 6x10. Its rated for 7000 LBS. You could fit 3 tons if you restacked them on it.

If you do use the Avalanche again make sure you get a good forklift operator the pallet just barely fits in the back due to the narrow box. People pick a tons up all the time with Avalanche from us they seem to do ok just wouldn't drive far with them.

I know a guy that has a similar dump. But he only hauls turds in his! Cow turds for his garden that is! He says I can use it, But I prolly couldn't get past the smell. And to think my pellet would be in a turd mobile? Isn't gonna happen!
