I'd love to know the correct diameter and length of the springs to install into my quad Santa fe, to increase heat flow and would like to hear if others have seen significant changes in heat output . Thanks Scott

Your in luck. Tjnamtiw and B-mod both have experimented in this area.

The Santa Fe and the Castile have both been done. Read through this thread. Its a long one, but lots of good info in there. Also the mod to wire the convection blower to always be on High, no matter what heat setting your on (Blower on High, but Heat on Low).

Thank you!!! :)

:p yep. Turbulators are used in quite a few different applications. If you search "Turbulators" in the box up top, you get some good results. .

Thanks, Dexter!!! Yep, I have the turbulators too. Definitely worth the effort, which is practically nil. :) I mean, why NOT do it???? You certainly are not harming the stove in anyway. In fact, you are sucking more heat out of the tubes and protecting them from overheating.

Ha !!! I searched Turbulators, and was re directed to MY posting :) any change someone has the link regarding length, diameter and where to purchase the full length or cut stock ?? I'm still new to the forum :) thanks again guys

the turbulators I used for kindly supplied by a fellow member here who hand made them. I never did search for them but I would start with 'turbulators oil burners'. They need to fit inside the springs and the length can be the same as the springs. They also need the cross piece tack welded on so they don't slide down although, thinking about it, if they were extra long, it wouldn't matter if the went all the way to the back wall and sat there.

Good luck.

I think there are some mods for your stove over on iburncorn.com. Might want to check over there also. I think there was some spring work there too but cant remember for sure. I seem to recall someone bought their springs from grainger.

The Dimensions I'm looking for are the spring sizes for the Santa fe tubes or castille.

If you look at the very first post on the first page of the link, you'll see I put down the info as > McMasterCarr some 36†long 1 1/4†diameter spring material (9662K46) and cut it into 9†lengths

Hope that helps. When you are inserting them, they won't slide straight in. You grab the bent end shown in the picture with pliers and twist while pushing in. Then they go right in.
