I'm really stuck between two actual stoves if I weren't going with what I already have, and only because of the burn times...I like the Republic. I like the Progress looks and utility wise, and the new BK Scirocco (sp?) isn't a bad looking stove with a good burn time too, although I'd want the door to swing opposite of what it does. UNLESS I could get one in addition to the Republic, then I'd want a Thelin Gnome Dv in the dining room. I can see it now, with a nice brick heathpad and brick behind it...yeah...definately. Or a vintage gas parlour stove if they could meet our needs. Ooo..yeah...now there's an idea...

We were only supposed to pick one, weren't we? Oops. Oh well.

Since I am dreaming...

I want a mutant BK+Soapstone+Harman mix.
A BK, that is dressed in soapstone, that you can top load and grill on.
Something that has a good thermo control that keep the Cat active through out the burn.
Something that can go at least 48 hours (stove top 500) between loading and worked on a 6" flue.

Those are some big dreams!!

I've had a long term longing for a Tulikivi. Fortunately the Alderlea has put that on the far back burner.

I think it is called the Jotul GF600 Firelight gas stove.

I have had a cast Jotul...forget the model #, but helped deliver/setup a soapstone stove from that place in New Hampshire (Woodstock Soapstone?). The stoves looks awesome. It would be a woodbburner for sure and most likely a Fireview. The person who owns it had in an ideal location in the house.....which I'm sure helped. But he raves about it. When the day comes that I'm looking for a new stove I'll be sure to visit this site and get some info. Another keeper of inserts and freestanding are Pacific Energy. This was a tip from someone who switched to that brand. I went to my local shop and they do look nice. I'm sure one of the three names I mentioned in this post will be the next stove I get!

"one equinox please", I'll figure out how to deal with the 8" pipe afterwards.

All I want is a Lopi Liberty that has a firebox as deep N-S as a Lopi Endeavor. That would be a wonderful stove. Rick

1/4" steel plate

The first Fisher Papa Bear made of course. (still in Bob's basement)

I could never understand why Lopi didn't make that Liberty box a couple inches deeper?

This comes up over and over again. I would've owned the Liberty if I could load it with 16-18 inch splits n/s. I think they really missed out on that one. I told the guy at the stove shop I didn't understand why it was so shallow and he was shocked why I would even care.

One of the great mystries of the world...

If they had have one would be setting where my Endeavor now sets...

Since you said pure fantasy, I would want a woodstove made of solid gold. Then I would sell it, retire, and buy a nice more practical/functional woodstove or masonry stove.

An Esse cook stove

Guess I just made my choice. Just ordered a second 30-NC. Couldn't wait to see if the stove fairy was gonna deliver.

After a lot of research (don't ask my wife about vehicle buying time!) I bought my stove of choice.....but what would you call it- steel. or cast???both I guess.

Where are you putting that one?

For the time being on the pallet in storage. I have wanted a 30 on that flue in the basement for a long time. Tried the pellet stove down there a few times this year with not so impressive results. With the low price and delivered to my door it is a no brainer. The flue in the basement is only six feet from the outside door and wood racks just outside of that. If I change my mind I can always sell it in the Fall.

You may well end up being the first hearth.com user with TWO 30's installed in your house! Maybe you'll get a hat to go with your shirt.

Sweet.

My first choice would be a masonry heater but Id need the right house to put it in, second choice would be the Tulikivi.

I'll take a BK performing Equinox. Oh....I guess I was supposed to pick an available stove.......hmmmm........perhaps a Mansfield! Cheers!
