I am betting your thermometer is right on - and think it has everything to do with humidity. Wood heat will dry a house and get rid of the bone chilling feeling that higher humidity/same temp gives you. Do you have a hydrometer?

I think it's called hygrometer. And I would agree...humidity plays such a big part of it...we have a piano & classical guitar so my hygrometer...tells me when to run our humidifier to keep our instruments happy around 40% humidity.

Yes, you are correct, thanks for the clarification. Can you tell I had my saltwater display on my mind, lol. We use a hydrometer to check specific gravity of the saltwater.

Hahaha. What is a saltwater display?

We used to have one of those...Lotta work!

Why is it? Yesterday was sunny, breezy, low 60s, with the stove at low burn, and 72-73 was way too warm in here. Right now, it's drizzling, gloomy, upper 40s, stove is lumbering along at 450, and 75 doesn't feel quite warm enough.
It was 74 in the house yesterday just from solar gain. Both me and the wife were cold. Normally 68 is very comfortable when stove is going.

I think we should all just revert back to our furnace haha.
