I was wondering if stove manufactures will be trying to sell off inserts at a discounted price due to this mild winter we had or do they just set their prices and thats it? Im looking for a Osburn 2000 insert and all places i know to check want right around $2,000 for it.

When we where looking we noticed there where many dealers to look at and not all equal ! Do not buy the stove at a discount price just to get it without checking out the dealer very well first if you can help it. The dealer will make or break your experience in the long run. That said usually this time of year stoves go on sale at many dealers as they clearance them for the winter. Shop around and look farther if you have to our dealer is 45 minutes away but worth it for the price and quality of the stove and dealer. What part of Michigan do you live in ? That might help if others know of a good deal or a good dealer near you.

Good Luck
Pete

Im good with ordering on line most have free lift gate shipping. I would love to get that insert with all the add-ons for $1800 or less. My wife too loves the heat our little Dutch West throws out we just want a longer burn time, the Osburn 2000 is about the biggest I could fit and meet the manufatures clearances, I will have to buy a hearth extension to for the 16 inch rule in front of the insert. Ill be going from a fire box of 1.3 to 2.3 should make a huge difference and a stove that weighs 230 lbs to one that wieghs 380 lbs . Ill have the wife running around in her bra LOL.

No Prob welcome to the forum and Good luck to you.

Pete

I bought my Osburn 2400 insert from www.dynamitebuys.com They had the best prices I could find on the web (when I was looking December 2010), and great customer service as well. Shoot them a call. Sean will set you up. He is a very nice guy. I had the unit delivered directly to my front door.

Hope that helps. Good luck!

ps for a couple hundred bucks more the 2400 has 3.2 cf firebox. I love the extra firepower.

Cool thanks Pete appreciate it.

Etiger if you want help moving or installing it I live near by and would gladly give you a hand!
I can bring my truck or trailer and help you move it as well as install the new stove when you buy.
I have had practice installing stoves over the last few years for friends family and myself.

Pete thats awsome and will keep that in mind, should be a quick set up because I already have an insert installed.

I odered my Osburn 1800 insert on the internet. It came from Washington State to Northern California. No problems.
Local dealer / installer wanted $2400 just to buy the insert. I got it for about $1675 Including shipping.
The chimney pipe kit was about $500. The local guy wanted $1500. PLUS LABOR !
I did it myself and it passed county code the first time.
