you can get the guys who delivered it to set it right next to the stove it will be replacing. Best 50.00 I have spent in a long time.

Here she is with a view from the stove she will be replacing and from the other side of the room. I have a little hearth work to do first so the stove will just be a rather unique end table for a couple months.

First thing I did was take the gold plated bling off it and if someone wants a second set let me know. I will likely be fabricating my own handles for the door and ash pan similar to the ones I made for my VC.

So with delivery to my living room - about 4' from the hearth I have just over 700.00 invested. I am pleased

Looking good. Mine will be here in the morning.

Bob, I love the green paint on the walls.....very cool and the table is sweet too.....Recliner looks friggin comfy as hell....

Smart move on the fidty.....I woulda tried that myself.... :cheese:

Good luck with the 30, your gonna love it...

very nice congrats.

Looking good! Be sure to open up the windows and put a fan exhausting the fumes for the first hot fire or two.

Copy that on the fan to exhaust the fumes from the burn off. I won't be buning this stove for 8 months or so and contemplated the outside first burn but... having someone else hump this monster into my house was to much to pass up so "fans" it will be!!

I will say they are not gentle with these buggers in shipping. The guys who brought it said I would not accept delivery because of how it arrived to them but policy said they have to offer. There are a few scratches but only on one side and that will be pretty much hidden so I do not care. I am not looking for pretty - just warmth. Although I am begining to like the look of this stove. With a custom handle fab it will be a nice center piece for me.

I did do the dollar bill test to make sure the door seal was tight - beyond that and a little brick reorganizing, she is ready to go. The bricks were all oer the inside but only one little corner chip so I just tucked that under one of the upright side bricks and its all good.

Thanks for the compliment on the stump/table and paint. I have made a few tables with the chain saw but this one I like the best. Real simple too - much less work than the ones with legs. Just a little triming and hit it with the belt sander then lots of water based poly. It is just a big cherry stump and if worse came to worse I could probably get 48hrs of heat out of that sucker. It is 23" high and 21" across and solid so it is a little heavy to move around when I am vaccuming but I think I could almost fit it into the 30 - This fire box is HUGE!!

Looks great Bob! I agree the stove will probably look better without the shiny stuff.. Great stove for the moolah and $50.00 to have it moved into the house was a bargain!

Thats a great deal for $700, I think my wife spent close to that for an end table and the only heat Id get from it is if I set it on fire

LMAO good one!

That brick with the corner missing is supposed to be the front on one the right side as you face the stove. It lets the door latch close.

Looks good Bob. Now you need to find a different place to hang that saw chain.

I am laughing out loud(all alone) about the end table. This sucker is so awesome I think it is puting off heat just sitting there.

Reguarding the chipped brick - I have that one in place(front right) it was another and just a small corner chip - hides right under one of the uprights and will fill in nicely with ash as soon as it gets the chance.

Dennis - you noticed my chain rack? Can you tell I live alone... with a dog. Actually the only one disapointed in the new stove will be the dog. he likes it cold so this will be driving him outside next winter.

Is that really a Defiant sitting on the hearth? It does kinda look like one but my spider senses are tingling.

Frank - it is a knock off by Olympic Crest but really the exact same thing so I label it a Defiant because they are more recognized. That will be firing my sauna after I get it built this summer!!

Looks great. I love that deer mount you have on the wall. I have never seen one with the head and body hide together like that. Cooling looking room.

No need for a pic because it looks just like Bob's. But 30-NC number two arrived today and is now in the basement. And no the freight guys didn't haul it in there. Not their fault. A logistics thing. My call so I haul. Any more stove moving in this joint is gonna be stoves moving out. I'm done.

I'm tired. Gonna have a beer or a dozen.

So the fidty didn't work.....did you scare the delivery guy by any chance?....
:gulp:
Just asking .... :smirk: :)

Nah. All according to plan. This place is 900 feet up a winding road that we call a driveway. And no place to turn a 26' truck around. I knew from the get go that I was going to go down and take delivery at the road and then jackass the stove out of my garden tractor trailer into the basement. The guys did a great job off loading to my trailer and got a nice tip for their work since they didn't put one ding in the stove or even break a brick. Of course I had it set up down there where all they had to do is slide it off the lift gate into the trailer. They looked somewhat thrilled.

I have moved a lot of wood stoves in and out of here all by myself. And dammit this is the last time for that stuff. Well at least in, gonna be some out. Old and tired ya see.

Good to know. No way a 26 ft truck is getting to my driveway.

Keep us posted on how the 30 heats compared to the knock-off.

Looks great, I pulled that trim off first thing also. I'm rather fond of the "raised by wolves" outward appearance and decor, and that was messing everything up.

When you remove the trim is it clean or does it have any divots or groves showing where the trim was?

Mine was smooth. Just needed a wipe down to remove dust that was under it.
