Done a lot of homework on this and have gotten a 50/50 response on if this combo would work. I do a log load or more of hardwood primarily for firewood. I'm use to a 450, 18" bar full chisel. It does bog down a bit, but it seems to work pretty well. I seem to get into larger stuff and that's seems to be the case with the standing trees espeically. Either way, could a 346xp swing a 20" bar? I can get a 357xp at 10% off list....which seems like a good option and a great saw......it's just that bottom line I'm talking a few 100 bucks more. You guys have been a great resources. Looking forward to the comments.

It'll pull it fine, I'm running a 18" on mine and she screams. If I was to go bigger I'd jump to the 562.

That's what mine was wearing when I bought it new but I switched it to a 16" bar for more speed. I think a 346 with a 20" bar would work fine as a solo saw that will do most of everything. If you have the bar buried in oak, it's not gonna cut as fast as a big saw, but it will do it. That pro saw should have a nice long life span compared to lesser units.
Mine did not wake up for a few tanks of gas. It's a noticeable difference IMO. The Stihl 261 is the equivalent and is supposed to be an awesome saw as well.
