I have decided to purchase a Harman Accentra Insert and wanted some opinions of a placement of a TV. I believe most of the air from the stove blows out the front and there isn't much radiating heat, so I might be ok. I was wondering what you guys think. Will the heat damage the tv? I have attached an image with basic dimensions (not exactly to scale). My only other option is above the fireplace. Thanks.

I have my tv less then 3 feet above my pellet insert, have not had any issues with the tv.

Read the TV manual on clearances, I put this plasma up three years ago with no issues.

Thanks. I wasn't sure if heat blowing from the side would be too much for the Tv. I did do a search, but like to hear some new ideas. The ones I found were from a couple years ago.

Mongo - hows the noise level watch tv with the insert? That was my concern with going with the Harman over the Mt. Vernon

It's not too bad, only time it gets a little noisy is when the stove is due for cleaning. Once the stove is cleaned the noise level drops.

We ran the volume at 70 on our home theater receiver all winter, when the summer weather hit we couldn't believe
how loud it was, and our stove isn't really very noisy. You just get used to it and it fades to the background.

Thanks for the replys. I've had a buck stove in my house growing up and that thing got loud and I got used to it. I was most concerned about the TV getting damaged from the heat.

The only concern I'd have is Pellet dust / ash eventually building up in the TV electronics

What do you mean by your stove gets noisy when it is due for a cleaning? I have not experienced this yet.

My stove is pretty close to the t.v. in a similar configuration. No issues with heat or dust. The added benefit is watching the stove fire while you are watching t.v.!

My plasma is about 3 feet above the stove and I've never had issues with heat or dust. Once a week after I clean the stove, I run a vacuum across the back of the tv to get dust that might accumulate there.

I'm on the fence about the movie...could be good, could be horrible.

Tv is thought of as combustible, so, just follow the side clearances in your manual......

Should be fine. Now let's see a video like mine. This keeps my new shed/workshop toasty and rocking!

I have the Accentra insert and I don't think you'll have any problem with that install

If you're worries about the heat, just hang a thermometer where you will be placing the TV. It really shouldn't very hot directly above the stove. Pellet stove throw heat forward, not up. You'll be surprised to find it won't be as hot as you think.

The manual for my plasma said anything over 90 degrees might harm the TV. My thermometer only registered 70.

Nice cave, saw the kero heater, no beer fridge?

Thanks, It was built last fall, so I need to finish the insulation. (Ran out of staples) Then I can add all the goodies. I got a microwave to warm the coffee. Then I will need a small fridge to cool the beers!
