Seems like after a few loads the glass gets pretty hazy. It comes off with a wet paper towel with no problm. Stove temps are around 550 on the face and the wood is 1 yr cut seasoned myself maple with some ash. The air supply is closed to about 5% with no smoke at all out of the chimney. Is this just normal and should I just get over it?

Totally normal.

Normal . . . the nice thing is as you discovered a quick swipe with damp newspaper (or paper towel) cleans it right up.

It can be normal but to see that much after just a "few loads" seems a bit much. The good part is that it cleans very easy as you've found.

It's normal and it won't be as bad during mid winter when draft is better.

Yes, run the furnace.>>

Edit, more detailed possibiles below.

I will see this light haze get worse if I start the fire with insufficient air. That can cause a smokey startup. Smoke is forced over the glass by the airwash which hazes up the glass. Leaving the door slightly ajar until the fire is burning well helps prevent this. You might also see this haze if the splits are overlength and a bit too close to the glass.
