With this warm spell we haven't been burning. Now that the temps have dropped, I got her roaring again. Nothing like a nice wood fire to warm you up!! IMAG0126.jpg

Yep, I just lit off a pile of Ash, Sugar and BL. That's a wild-lookin' stove...or furnace? What brand?

I know it's great isn't it? Pretty sad when it's close to being summer and I'm STILL wanting cold weather.....we were cheated out of a winter this year, I hope we get one this coming year. I've never had so much wood stored in my life!!

Started back up last night at about 9:30 with some slab and then loaded up with some nice beech. Burning some cherry this evening.

I'm still burning some white oak from two long-dead standers I cut down in February. I hauled two whole trees into the basement and I'm picking on the last of them. Yeah, yeah I know I shouldn't be 'wasting' that white oak in the shoulder season. But I ain't about to haul it all back outside to haul in something else. I have plenty of oak and locust so I'm just burning the white oak. Plus it smells great!!

I fired the stove up at about 6:00 PM this evening. I'm just burning some Elm chunks, and a little of the messy (thought I'd burn it all up this past winter) , punky sapwood, Red Oak.

Burn up that nasty oak Scotty so you can get into that favorite wood of yours. I think you said that was willow if I'm not mistaken.

We have been in the high 20's or low 30's at night so the last three nights we had the Pellet Stove running, perfect weather for that. Tomorrow will be our third day of rain, still have some wood inside but I'm hoping for a break in the rain tomorrow so we can push in a few loads.

It is indeed nice to have the stove hot again. Using up more of this last winter's stash (quite alot left) means less to haul back out into the yard for another summer of drying.

Yep, got her lit up here too, feels good. A C

Just engaged the cat on the Fireview. It will get cold tonight.

I lit the stove last night after being away for a few days, and it looks like it will stay hot for a couple of days at least.

35 here tonight in Georgia. We also had a pretty warm winter. I enjoyed filling the stove up this evening. Got to thinking, 6 more months and it will be mid October.

We're nice & toasty in front of the fire here too. Lit-up yesterday around 5pm and tonight around 6:30 when I got home. Burning Red Elm that was supposed to be in ashes a while ago. It was in a Holz-Hausen near the house, but I had to move about 2 face-cords of it to my back stacks a few weeks ago so I could get grass seed down where the HH had been.
I was afraid if I didn't get the seed down it would get too hot for the grass to get established.
