90% of what is there was from the storm. The stuff we are working on now we got from Doug's co worker.

I also have a tree service guy in town that frequently sets me up.

Yes, there is wood to be had everywhere still from the storm. If you can't find it, your just not looking.

I'm a new stove user and novice scrounge.

Lakeside: You say there's wood to be picked up. Are you speaking of mostly private property or on land where the public may gather it without permission needed?

KC: Same question about wood to be 'had'.

Perhaps you both are saying "ask and thou shall receive"?

My next door neighbor has told me to help myself to a fallen tree, and I have a co-worker with 16 acres with many down from the storm. Now if I only owned a pickup....

Mike - getting used to my new Huqvarna 445

Yeah, to be a scrounger a pick up or a trailer helps out immensely. Check craigslist for free wood, sometimes people just want it out of the way if you cut it up.
Nice Holz Iskiatomic, that looks really sturdy with a nice shingled roof ;lol

KC, do you intend to fill the pool too?

Wow.... Very nice. Love a Wall of Wood. Its almost a shame to take that "Fence" down... But as long as the stock is rotated? It should always stand.

How much wood is stacked there (rows and HH's)?

Thats awsome Do you sell wood too? I like the bark shingle idea good job.

Slab wood for the top of the Hausen?
Nice stacks.
How much do you think you have stacked up ?
Great pictures

that's a solid looking round house. now to get enough wood to try that some day...

If it was as warm in CT as it was up here in ME yesterday I would bet that you were wishing the pool cover was off and the pool was open . . . nice stacks.

Yea the stack/fence provides some privacy for the pool during the summer.
Am now continuing the stack on the other side of the shed. Not sure what the neighbors think though.
