I am SORE! Physically, that is. Steve came by on Wednesday and delivered my 5 tons ~ yesterday I moved all 5 tons into the basement. Having to lift each bag 3 times until it is in its final destination I figure I lifted 15 tons yesterday

There's that song about lifting "15 Tons of #9 Coal"...

yeah. i did that the first time too.

i just had to tell the contractor who is doing work on our house to cancel one of the replacement basement windows and install a hatch instead so as not to block my direct route for loading bags into my pellet bunker. :)

I decided I could "squeeze" another ton in the basement, so I ordered one more ~ for a total of seven I will have 'squirreled" away for next season. I usually only use between 5-6, but with this mild winter ~ I'll hedge my bets we won't be so lucky next winter, plus the uncertainty of fuel and pellet prices.
I'll take a pic soon.

Is anyone going to try some and let us know how they burn?
According to reports here from last winter, they burned well. Scot says they only burn slightly better in their third party tests. Can't wait to try them out myself.

mepellet what did Scot mean that they only burn slightly better than in their thrid party tests? Better then what???

I am very interested in these pellets, but can't seem to find information about how they burn.

Slightly better than the blend they make. Talk to member Sinnian, he hates the blend but loves the softies. He just took delivery of 5 or 6 tons.

Thanks sinnian. Still on the fence here. I burnt about 1/2 a ton of the MWP pellets this winter in my Quad Castile, and found them a lot of ash and lower heat than my Okies stash.
I do not know how to compare my Castile against a pellet boiler. I think the Okies have spoiled me, but the high price is causing me to look elsewhere!

I found the same thing with the MWP Blend, but not the MWP Softwood. Like the MWP Softwood more than the Okies, and the price.

I still have Okie ash on my lawn from winter 2010-2011, not real happy about that ~ and wonder what they added for it to be like that.

Just picked up 2 bags of Spruce Pointe and 2 bags of MWP Softies. They are next to go in the hopper. The MWP's are 229 a ton at Great Works Biofuels

I sort of tested the MWP softwood (almost a bag) and they seemed to be very good for me, being a softie they burn FAST so we have to dial down the feed rate a bit.

Have one ton the blend and two of MWP softies coming on 5/12, just loaded 3 tons of PWI from SMRF last Friday into the basement. That will give me six ton please another left from this season (still have 3/4 of a ton of the MWP blend left that I am burning now). Love the MWP blend can not wait to try the softies. Price in the fall who knows but did not want to take a chance so figured I would get them all now, I did the same last spring.
