Just got an email from Pellet Stove Pro, seems as though he just found the most awesomest website! here is a snippit of the content:
Dear Scott ,
That was the title of the email I recently sent. Like you, I try to fix a lot of my own stuff and I hate having to pay someone to repair something simple that I could do myself if I knew what to do?
When my gas dryer stopped drying clothes I got my toolbox out to see what was wrong even though I know nothing about gas dryers. After several attempts at repair I gave into frustration. But before I called the Maytag Man I looked online to see if there was anyone who could tell me how to fix this thing.
I found the most awesome resource called www.justanswer.com. They have every expert you can imagine and for $15 I had an online Appliance Man help me diagnose and fix my Dryer. ..yada yada yada
Sincerely,

Jason Munson

So I scrolled through the answer professionals...what are the chances that the Pro is there trying to make a dime? Yet we all provide those things for free around here. Seems like his visits here are truely just for phishing.

I'm glad you guys on here haven't figured out the value of the information that you provide...I would be broke (I mean more broke)!

lol- looks like a troll- Im instantly suspicious of anyone who puts "Pro" in their title or name.......

I've always wondered why those "pay for an answer" sites exist. Every time I have had a problem with vehicles, appliances, etc. I get those sites in my internet searches at the top of the page. The great thing is every time nearer the bottom of the search page there are free answers and help sites where I have always found great help. Actually I have gotten good advice in the DIY section of this site too.

ever notice how you have to "pay for the answer" ahead of time too......? Odd that folks know the answer to any question before I even ask it....and I wonder if there is a refund policy in affect if they cant answer it to my satisfaction?

That jason guy also runs a ebay store.....I read some of his comments about fixing a quadra-fire pellet stove (Stuff he was telling people to do) and to be honest i found the answers he gave less the correct in fact way off but hey who am i to judge

A couple of years ago, in a pinch, I tried to buy a motor from the kid. He jerked me around for 3 days and never sent it. I had to tell him that the motor is thought was the right one was THE RIGHT ONE, but he still didn't send it. Look at his pro website and read the articles about Englander fixes or the auger motors he is selling from Merkle Korff...guaranteed to be the best, quietest and longest lasting motor in the world. Really? I wasn't aware that MK made a motor especially for him. I don't care waht motor you toss in to the PDV's if you do not scrape the carbon off the lower tube at the fire pot the motor will die in two years. Personally, I think ECM makes the strongest, longest lasting motors out there...

In my 40 years I've found that if you have to annouce it, you're uncomfortable with the truth. Just thought I'd share.

Man how I despise scammers.

When someone sounds "heads up" like this thread, take warning. You will only have yourself to blame if you lose out. Best guidance around is right here in this forum. Lots of sound advice and sometimes a good bit of humor. ;lol

My account charges me for emailed questions. Hmmm,

Problem is that I end up joining a different web site or forum for everything I am interested in or need to fix...
AR15.com Guns and everything related or unrelated
Hearth.com You already know about this site...
FocusFanatics.com Car information
SlickDeals.net Great deals on everything you can imagine
blutube.policeone.com Great Videos
familysearch.org Geealogy
toool.nl Lockpicking
mods.dk Radio modifications (Ham CB Scanner)
auctionarms.com Gun auctions

That was just a quick glance at the sites I have joined.
Some are a wealth of information like Hearth.com.
AR15.com has multiple areas to search, and you can post a question about almost anything and get a correct answer and or solution to your problem.

The problem is I spend too much time online and not enough time interacting with people face to face.

BIll

I find that a good manual from manufacture (service type) is allways best. They have to train them to fix these things when they made em in the begining to date. A healthy Baseline knowledge can help a long way in a pinch.
