I'm sure you will get a good sample of answers on that question. Lot's of personal preferences. I can't give you one because I'm still using a 1980's insert but all the reading I've done I would think another Blaze King would be a good option to consider.

yes blaze king is one of the best ,here on the oregon coast we burn 24 7 9 months a year the past 30 years got the good out of this one. thanks

Have you looked at the Princess Insert (Blaze King)??

Crazy Long Burn Times.....

Do you have a Liner installed in your current chimney? Is it insulated? What size (6", 7", 8")??

no liner but draws great and only clean chimney every2 or 3 years. and the best part is i only use 3 plus cord a year with long hot burns.

What are the dimensions of your current masonry chimney?

Most modern EPA stoves require/recommend an insulated liner?

There is a HUGE difference in the area of a 6" flue (round) and 7"x10" clay tile, exterior chimney.

Hopefully the Pros will touch more on that.

Without a Liner, I believe its considered a "Slam Install". . . IIRC.

yes its something like 7x10", but if i need a 6-8" pipe liner i will put one in for the best draw and effichency. i would really like some more ideas on brand come -on give me some ideas ???????? my wife is sick of the noisy 30 year old blase king insert and now the fan is stuck on highhhhhhh.

How big is that old Blaze King insert?

The BK Princess insert is 2.8 cu ft.

If your old stove is larger you will need a larger stove to replace it. New stoves are not magic. You need a large firebox for a lot of heat.

OK. Another brand. The Pacific Energy Summit insert. Hell of a stove. Just don't burn in it you want to heat the whole neighborhood like some have. You will break it. Burn it like you have been burning the BK and it will do a great job for a long time.

But any insert fan is going to make some noise. The fan on my freestanding stove in the fireplace makes noise. Your dishwasher makes noise. So does your fridge. My heat pump used to make noise. Before it died from lack of use.
