Talked to a buddy who ownes a tree service, he was cleaning up a log pile and offered me a free load. I couldn't say yes fast enough! It is all oak with a bit of ash, logs have been sitting for 2 yrs. Question is how much do u think it is? Truck driver said about 6-7 chords, work starts tomorrow. Thanks

scroll down for pic.

Depends upon the size of the truck and how it is loaded. Good for you getting this!

Unreal! Real jealous. The last couple of log loads I got (tri-axle logging truck) were indeed 6-7 cords, stacked.
PS: I'm paying $650 for a load!

I would say 6-7 face cord. Tree services dont normally have truck big enough for 6-7 full cord. My guy could only do 3 cord at a time. I can post a pic if you send it to me.

From the pic it could very well be full cords. Thats alot of wood and for free. photo.JPG

That is quite the score. There's going to be a lot of jealous people on here.

You don't come across deals like that very often here in Maine because so many people burn wood.

If that is a tri-axle straight job log truck I'm guessing it's 5 cords.

Had to pay for mine! !!

That should be a few cord (not face cord) .

Mine generally end up being about 6-7 (as someone noted above).

Depends on how big there truck is, how full they load it, and how straight the logs are (straight logs=less air space).

This is from afar (Wife took pics from her phone while unloading) I didnt want to take any with the guy on the truck (running the crane).

Free wood is Great Wood... Nice score (jealous ;) )

Wow! I can't believe you got that load for free. That's great. I've bought two tri-axel loads over the past two years. I paid $550 for each load. I don't know how many cords it made. Thanks to several loads of free wood, I still have some oak from the first load. The second load is split, stacked and drying.

Drool, pant, drool. Free, you said? Awesome.

Wow, that's a big truckload for a tree service score. You are gonna be busy for a while!

Huge, free load of Oak and Ash...no slash??
HIT!

Excellent score.

I would make certain the person that set you up had a cold case of beer and a gift certficate to a great restaurant for that opportunity.

Lets see.....a ton of premium hardwood, delivered and unloaded at your site, no limbs or leaves to deal with, oh and all FOR FREE!?!? That, my friend, is the king daddy of any score!!!

I always like the sight of the wood truck coming down the driveway, even better when i don't have to reach into my pocket to pay him. Great score and make sure you take care of him so he returns next year!
