I've burning the Great Americans (aka GAPS) for 2 seasons now, they are a very good pellet. I rank them up there with the Hammers, Turmans, and Barefoots . Do a search here and I think that most users will give them favorable reviews. I know they saying "try a few before you buy (tons)" not possible at this time of the year. The bottom line is I don't think you will be disappointed they aren't Okie's ,but they also don't cost $360/ ton. Good luck let us know how you make out.

I just got some pwi to start off next season with. Can't say enough good things about them. Good heat and unbelievably low ash.

Never burned PWI's but the GAP's burned great in my stove and for the money you can't beat it......I stopped by the Cozy Barn near me to buy a half ton of the GAP's but they were out of them and wound up buying Turman......I will definitely be buying GAP's when the time comes though................

I tried a few test bags of the PWI this year and really liked them. Great heat and very low ash. Have three ton sitting in the basement ready for next season which will replace the Cubex I have been burning. I have not burned GAP's.

I've burned the Logic-e which is the same as PWI. good heat and low ash. And are reasonbly priced. No experience with the GAP's

I tried some Power House which are the same as GAP's last year and they burned great. I purchased 2 ton for next year. I would have bought my usual 4 tons, but I had 2 tons of Turmans left from this past season yet.

What stove are you burning them in??

That will play a big part in it.... A good stove will burn a Bad pellet better. Some bad stoves dont even burn Good pellets well.

If you add your stove to your Signature line, we wont be asking.... ??? ;)

I have a Timber ridge (englander) insert model. I assume it can burn hardwood pellets as well as soft (okanagens were great)

How do you like that EP? Does that model have "tubes" for the Heat Exchanger? (Where the air comes into the room, is it blown through tubes?) Or is it an open area?

I have used PWI all of last winter, the best ever pellets so far

They were shorter on average, than all previous pellets I used before

So I installed a choker plate to lower the mass flow a little bit

With the LG I now have, I readjusted chocker to wide open original openning

And the sad thing being I can't find PWI locally!

Montreal area so if someone knows, let me know!

Bye, Ben

I like the PWI too. I got some nice heat from them. Logik-e is the sister pellet and all I can find locally.

I thought I search one of my post to come here and say hi! Sounds like I've not been here since 2012! My daughters have grown up since then!!!
Still burning the PWI. By far best value for money.
The M55-FS coming to 10 yr-old. Some minor issues have occured, sounds like I will need to replace the agitator this yr. otherwise stove is still as original (except for convection fan now changed to turbo with capacitor).
Bye, Benoit

Hi Benski,

Good to hear from you! My son is in collage now......... Time sure flies!!

I've had to replace my agitator 2 times already. And almost due again. The new cast agitators don't last as long as the originals.

Me again in 2023 now.
Almost 15 yrs on the M55!
Burning Valfei Orford pellets the last 4-5 yrs. minimum ash and max heat.
All good here, just coming here to solve a leaky Duravent twist lock clean out cap.
Wishing everyone all the best, even if I don’t come here often, your always my go to place for searching solutions!
Ben
