I didn't see any listing of these very interesting stoves made in Vermont, in the reviews section. Does anyone have any experience with one they'd like to share ?

PM member wkpoor. I know he is very pleased with his, and I think he is getting a second one.

Steve makes a great wood stove from all accounts. Like any handmade one of of a kinds they are pricey and not generally available so you won't find a lot of reviews. wkpoor loves his Elm. And Jessee James bought one last year. If you buy one just don't figure on Sandra Bullock being your friend. ;lol

Thanks BrotherBart. Sandra can keep me warmer than any stove, I'm gonna have to think this over.

You should know they are not UL listed nor EPA rated even though they perform as such. Also like any EPA stove you must practice same burning habits and use good dry wood for best results. With that said they will put out alot of heat as you wold expect from a barrel stove.

Hello

Here is their web site. Very interesting stove!

I bet they put out more heat than some all cast iron stoves I have seen?

Here is their promo video too! I like that John Deer with the Fork Lift arms on the front of the scoop!

Thanks everyone for your help. I called Stephen to talk about one. Very nice man, very knowledgeable. They just might be EPA soon. Will probably get more expensive too, I would imagine.

Wow, that'd be great if they got EPA approved. Also, I had emailed Steve last year about these stoves and he told me they are UL Listed.

They are really neat stoves. The way he customizes them for size is pretty nice. But, they are not UL listed. Some insurances will have an issue with that. Mine would. I thought it would have looked sweet having a 30" Elm where the 30 will end up going.

Wonder what Ins. companies have to say about masonry heaters which I doubt are UL listed since pretty much each one is a one off custom unit. Steve said the original Elm's were UL listed. Its another test you must put the stove through and then buy the 2 dollar tags. Basically all it does is give recommendations for clearance from combustibles.
