Tree falling down is good for the woodburner......very, very bad for the vehicle......>>

Sorry Dave, I ain't cutting my shade down. I would feel naked in the summer time and probably double my electric bill. That is why I have insurance.

Same here.Small lot in town with 2 large fruitless Mulberries,3 large Black Walnuts in backyard, with phone/cable/power to 4 other houses besides mine going through the upper branches.I value their shade too much -wood processing area is underneath them, plus picnic table, stone walkway/benches,outdoor workbench, smoker, weber kettle, storage shed & other things. Its easily 15 degrees cooler underneath them than anywhere else outside on the property.Only upper branches would hit the east side of house, insurance covers that, like you said.

Well maybe keep the trees & at least install under ground power lines. Few billions $$$ here or there should do it. :)
Maybe the wind won't blow again

I had my lines buried a little more then a year ago.
I have 2 big old maples that have been hit by lightning.
Both are close to the house and need to come out.
I will miss the shade but gain a lot of wood.
I have a couple other big ones around too.

These things are just too big. I will have to get up there and whittle it down.

Thats firewood like it also a table, or flooring or demensional lumber or a bookcase, or a chair or tootpicks, you get the idea......
