Smokin, I'm sure he'll love the chains because you know what you're doing, with all the milling, felling and bucking you do. Keep us posted on how you make out bro.

No truck gas, no loading of a trailer, and no unloading of same trailer! All that for sipping some bud light in a climate controlled shop and going tap, tap, tap

Sounds like a great deal smokin, is the GF doing any sharpening?

I've often tried to think of a side business to do in the garage. If I could sharpen chains I would need to get a much better grinder!

I think that would be fair to say. I train James as well....I may not even need to be on the grinder. lol But this leaves me more time for work and the money is better than I have ever done.

What a deal!
I go out and buy new chains. I cant sharpen to wear I can tell any difference but I sure can with a new chain.
The barter system is the best.

I must have one!

MM, is a round cut, like the Timberline, better than the square cut of a wheel as shown in that video?

Not for me my chains cut very well and only 200.00 investment! ;)

Square ground chain is sworn upon by many a logger. Supposed to cut a bit faster than round filed. Is it better? I really can't answer that even having used both and sharpened both ways.

BTW that machine is about $10K last I checked. Supposed pay for itself after a year if you grind 12+ chains a day. Start saving ;)

Did you get a new truck?

Muffler fell off up to the manifold! :p

I had a hard time paying $10 a chain the local place was charging so I bought my own sharpener. $10/chain works out to like $100/hr!

That big machine is cool and all, but it looks to be really slow! I could go faster than that with 1/2 a case of beer in me.

Yeah but that machine cuts while you drink the beer, (or fix the saw, whatever, :p). Gotta ask, how straight do the 1/2 case chains cut? Straight as viewed before or after the 1/2 case? ==c
