There is actually a nicer version of that concept on the market for hot tubs. I suppose this heater could be installed in a large thermal storage tank.

Or elevate the steel tank and put the fire down below. Oh, wait a second, that would be a OWF!

Actually, my mom has a one-person cedar Japanese ofuro with a built-in wood heating appliance (a smaller version of Bob's link) that has been sitting, unused, in an outbuilding at her tree farm for the past 40 years or so. One of these winter days after a good ski outing.....

My plan is to soak in it out in the yard in the middle of winter, preferably during a snow storm.

Now I wonder.... would a 55 gallon drum work? Sit it on a cement block base so the hot metal wont melt the liner. But I don't think I could keep the drum down in the water, it would want to "pop" up like a cork. Right?
But if it would stay down in the water I think I would have to weld some tubing into the side walls down low that would come up out oif the water to draw air in and help with the burn.

Ok Ok I gotta stop, I think I'll just let the sun heat it.

That photo reminds me of the time when I was a kid and was put in charge of burning some yard waste. I held the shovel over the fire, got it red hot and my dad lost his temper along with the shovel

Nice setup, the only thing that bugs me is that you need to undress, but your bathing suit (Or go but naked) jump in the pool with a full load of wood you need to keep dry!! But except that little detail, I love it, making me think it's a pretty dang inexpensive boiler / storage setup Any patent on this ? Can you get the optional stainless wheel barrow ? And it's natural draft as well, great for power outage
