The weather turned much cooler (high of 68) on Thursday so I finished stacking the rounds. Sorry for the blurred picture.

For those wondering, there is a bit over 7 cord there. There is also another pile of logs unstacked but those have to be cut down to size yet. This is what happens sometimes when someone else wants to "help" and cut you some firewood. Wrong length...

Looks awesome Dennis! I wish I had your wood stacking skills!

You do certified. You do.

Nice work Dennis. Looks good. You getting any rain where you are?

We got .7" a couple days ago. Funny part is a friend who lives 50 miles due east of us got only .1" that day. However, yesterday he got 1.5" and we got nothing.

Holy Cow! 7 inches? We have only 10.7 inches for the entire year....but then you already knew it was dry here. By the way, nice stacks as usual Dennis. How many cords you got put up total?

Aaaaaah, thanks. I see the decimal point now==c As dry as we are, we could get 7 in and the first 4 would just run down the cracks::-)

Looks "Great" as usual Dennis.
It looks like the wood is pretty dry already. Should be primo stuff in 2 years.

Looks like you could have a good "bark fire". Looks like allot fell off as it was drying.
Won't burn s good as the birch bark I burnt last week but should make a good fire to stand around & poke with a stick :)

Yep, ;) Been there a few times myself.

Naw, we are high and dry. It was .7" and not 7 inches. Steve probably had fixed him a nice cool drink before he read the post. ;lol

Thanks Dave and all the rest of you great guys.

Yup. Have some cleaning up to do to get it all finished. The bark will either end up in some wet spots in the woods or sometimes I just leave it and let it rot right by the wood stacks.

It will no doubt be well over 2 years before I get to burning any of that wood. We have plenty.

Good work stacking, Dennis. As always, such neat looking rows. On a more serious note, aren't you guys with so much firewood in one place at least a little concerned that all the concentrated mass will get the earth wobbling? Like an off-balance tire on a car?

Some think it is earthquakes that cause that wobbling and shaking. Now we know the truth....

Looks great Sav, the cooler weather we had was nice, we had one night drop to 43. Looks like the weather later Monday could get hairy around here again, maybe some flash flooding with high winds again.

wow 43 Zap, did you light off the stove? :)

Nice looking stacks as always Dennis, I always end up with a ton of bark too, I usually chuck em in the woods.

Looking good. Hell, I would love to have some 68 deg lows at this point...ha Its 11:30pm and 87 deg outside.
I also have to cut down alot of my wood. I get such a good deal from a local I just cant see cutting alot of my
own stuff...but he cuts his at around 20-22". I could try and ask him to cut shorter, but its extra wood for the same
money and I dont mind using the chainsaw a little.

I just got in from tuning up some of my stacks with a tamper. There're some that look really bad, as in wavy, but still holding together, but in some other spots, it was loose and leaning. I think it was the stacking to 6' plus (three across) in the light of a headlamp that did it :).

Come on Wendell. I've seen some of your wood stacks. You do just fine. Probably better than ours.

Mine do look OK when I stack them. After 3 years it is often a different story. ;em

Good job! I have a big heap I have to start stacking, I'm not looking forward to that.

It felt cold enough but sine we have a burn ban on I held back!;)

You're well up to par, as usual Dennis. Your stacks and skills are what many of us on here aim to achieve someday. Glad you had some 'cooler' weather to work in, keep those great pics coming!

Scott, it was cooler. Sad to say it has gone the other way once more. But 84 forecast for tomorrow so not too bad.
