I was doing some repairs on my Vermont Casting 0028 and while installing the Damper linkage it fell down between the outer and inner walls, I tried using a coat hanger but can't get it, any ideas on the best way to get it, maybe turn it over but it's a little heavy Ha Ha.
Thanks for any suggestions. Does anyone know if the top comes off.

Defiant should be around pretty soon or shoot him a PM. He has rebuilt a few VC stoves I believe. good luck

Magnet taped to something stiff?

Don't sweat it, just get another one. Trust me, you don't wnna have to go in there! Woodman's Parts Plus should have it, or I probably have one lying around.

Hey done this many times. If you can't get the inside side off. I used to roll the stove upside down and shake (PITA). Is the piece you dropped the damper actuator linkage? Shaped like a hockey stick.

Thanks for everyone's advice, turned it upside down but could not get it loose much less hear it rattle so just ordered another one.
Thanks Again

What I understand I am suppose to to put cement on the "Linkage Assess Panel" I see all kinds advertized, I prefer it in a tube, would appreciate if someone could recommend something.
Thanks

You must mean "access panel"? Any gasket or furnace cement will do. 256040_front500.jpg

Thank you very much, I must say this is the most helpful and quickest answering forums I have ever belonged to. Hope I can do the same for someone.
