Having your chimney sweep say "It sure doesn't look like you burned three cords!"
Had the chimney swept today and it looks like I did things right after all. There wasn't even a quarter cup of creosote that came out of the chimney, everything else was fly ash. When he cleaned the open fireplace last year it was cakey black creosote because I had tried to burn unseasoned wood.
Thanks to all that provided guidance and help to get me in the right direction we now enjoy the fine heat from properly seasoned firewood in a top quality wood burning stove. What a difference a year (and good people willing to help a stranger) make.
